Nice to see this published across the former Black Press online newspaper networks this afternoon! An actual argument/article in favour of Proportional Representation! "A total of 48.1 per cent of voters cast ballots for the Conservatives, while 37.4 per cent voted for a BC NDP candidate and 11 […]

The damn worm finally got him. RIP Chekov, Walter Koenig. Such a great part of Star Trek! #RIP #Chekov #StarTrek ❤️

What’s with all the socialism happening in northeast BC lately? First a community taking ownership of an airport, now a municipality looks to build a health clinic? Bunch of Communists up there! 😂😂 #bcpoli #publicgood #publicOwnership #government #healthcare […]

The thing is that the new climate denialism does not fit with #BCNDP / #NDP values. Eby's climate arson was profoundly disturbing for the kind of people *who volunteer on NDP campaigns* and vote NDP. Eby went out of his way to insult and demoralize the NDP base. Result: #bcpoli

Huge reason — probably? — for the big swing of seats in the #BCElection: Absolutely abysmal 48% turnout. Possibly lowest ever. This was not a giant wave of enthusiastic change makers. This was more like a very tired and possibly cynical shrug… #BCPoli #Democracy

On a dark morning after the election, this is hopeful. "With nearly all votes counted on Saturday night, the party did manage to make a second-place showing in three ridings, securing 40.3 per cent of the vote in Victoria-Beacon Hill, 35.3 per cent of the vote in Victoria-Swan Lake and 29.1 per […]

The polls before the #BCElection were right. It translated into a #BCCP majority. Eby has resigned after perhaps the most cynical, arrogant, and stupid snap election call in BC history. We are now faced with a government led by a group of people who can barely work together, who hate large […]

@chris Good luck ! Am concerned about tectonic shift if the actual west coast moves to the right and pushes against the coastal, monashee and even rocky mountains to squeeze them all. Will folks in interior BC appreciate being so close to woke people from the coast :-)

I won’t be live posting about the #BCElection because I need to get up at 4AM. But I will probably be unable to keep myself from rolling over and checking the results…. 😱 😬 🙏 Preliminary results will be available at the link on the Elections BC page starting at […] [Original post on socialbc.ca]

I hope you've remembered to vote, BC! Have a look at the results in your riding from last time, chat with friends, and please just vote against the Conservatives. #bcpoli #bcelection2026

Please, B.C. Friends, just look what has happened to every other place that drifted too far from reasonable conservatism because they were angry at ________. MAGA, Far Right, Separatist, Hatefulness. That is the alternative that is actually happening today and […] [Original post on socialbc.ca]

Hey guys, I’m volunteering with @desertbus this year, if you’ve never heard of it, it’s a crazy 24/7 multi-day donation drive full of nerdy fun and games that raises a million dollars for Child’s Play charity! It’s super fun. You can check out the twitch stream and join in here […]

Last look at the polls before the only poll that matters, tomorrow, in the #BCElection. It looks truly terrible for the NDP. Hope they can pull this out of the fire and get a minority coalition to happen with #BCGreens. Otherwise we’re in for an undetermined […] [Original post on socialbc.ca]

GC Stewart Phillip has endorsed Emily Lowan in Saanich North AND endorsed some NDP candidates. David Eby is done, as he will not get the big majority he seeks. Vote strategically. Campaign strategically. Hope for a minority NDP government (without Eby) requiring Green support. #bcpoli #yyj

"In 2023, Bryan Tepper, candidate for Surrey-Panorama, shared a meme saying January 6 “was a lie.” Bhangu has also shared the conspiracy theory that the January 6 insurrectionists were actually members of “Antifa.” #bcpoli #SurreyBC

Canadian policy suggestion. Housing. Law that ties price of a home to no greater than 2.5x the national average individual income. 1975: income was $10-20,000; home: $20-$40,000. (2-4x income) In 2026: $60-65,000, home: $650,000 (10x income). “Supply” isn’t what we need, we need […]

The abject cruelty of the US Administration, it’s border services, and it’s healthcare system, and how it killed a Canadian citizen living in Point Roberts, USA, is the top story this morning on the CBC. As it should be. This is what the USA has become. Cruel. Inhuman. Uncaring. Indifferent […]

Faint glimmer of hope for #BCNDP two days out from #BCElection The latest poll, Mainstreet, shows a narrowing lead for the #BCCP. From +8 on October 1st to +6 on October 18. Three of the last four polling firms have seen the same trend. Is it enough to pull […] [Original post on socialbc.ca]
