We're scared to slow down, to ask for help, to put our genuine selves into our work, to see the beauty in the mundane. Ai tells us that you can do things faster, not have to rely on others, to put pretty words out there, and that you only have to keep your brain entertained with the flashy shit.

I think Ive struggled to articulate why LLMs are something I have such an aversion to outside of the clear environmental costs (which is super important and reason enough for me to abstain from Gen Ai) but I think observing how it enables the toxic parts of modern culture gave me the words i needed

It feels like Gen Ai/LLMs are mostly feeding into problems that already exist within dev spaces and in general life. It's feeding every bad habit and unhealthy mindset our modern cultures have. Perfectionism, hyper individualism, efficiency, and similar concepts.

Yoshi and the mysterious book has been finished and honestly? It's so so insanely charming! Im glad I gave this game a shot in spite of all the stuff I heard about it being "too weird" or "too easy" and such. It's a unique take on a platformer that experiments w a more laid back objective structure

The second the Democratic party starts accepting sports bans, I promise you, it will go on to do worse. And in fact we are already seeing it, some of the candidates also are opposing "trans surgery for youth." That easily becomes blockers and hormones, bathrooms and schools.
