@badgernoonan.bsky.social my impression of why they are using 45° is explicitly for swings like Yandy’s. He goes well past 0° and approaches 30 or so. But you and the guys think that should t be a swing, so your internal standard must be close to45. I think 0 is too low, but 45 is way too high

@fangraphs.com I’m still very curious why the Brewers and Rays odds seem to be reversely connected to home field advantage

Steven Anderson@smcanderson.bsky.social

@dszymborski.fangraphs.com Why is Game 1 (in Milwaukee) a 50/50 game and Game 5 (in Tampa) a 55/45 game favoring the Brewers? Something to do with the Trop or a mistake?

sir do you deny that you witnessed Trae Young's 10-assist, 8-turnover performance? is it your testimony that you have never witnessed Clint Capela going 1-for-4 from the foul line? might i remind you that you are UNDER OATH

Logan Henderson finishes his season with a 0.844 WHIP across 98.1 innings. That's the lowest WHIP by a rookie starting pitcher with at least 50 IP thrown in 118 years, since Elmer Steele in 1908.

And I note this not even to suggest that caps don’t guard against dynasties (although they don’t!), but to say this: dynasties and repeat champions are *part of normal sports cycles*, and throwing tantrums about them is strange and illogical!

MLS says a stopped clock would “improve consistency and fan understanding.” For example, stopping play could help fans understand that Continental is the smart choice in tires

Pablo Maurer@mlsist.bsky.social

NEW: MLS has had preliminary discussions with IFAB about potentially trialing the use of a stopped clock during matches, a potentially fundamental, massive change to the laws of the game. I have much more on the Guardian: www.theguardian.com/football/202...

This is why Brewers fans would be dumb to support a salary cap.

RD Topp@rdtopp.bsky.social

And if owners give up control years to make that happen, which is the thing the players would most want and demand in return, the Brewers whole operating system goes flying out the window and then they are truly and irrevocably fucked. The cure is worse than the disease here.

@rdtopp.bsky.social pedantic, I know, but Andrew Vaughn joined the Brewers on July 7th. From July 7th on, the best hitter on the Brewers was Brice Turang: .298/.370/.519 for a 147 wRC+! FIVE NINETEEN! (also wild that minimum 70 PA everyone but Perkins and Joey was > 110, 11 guys!)

Two straight blowouts, why should the AFC get an automatic Super Bowl berth?

We are seeing a blowout in the Super Bowl. Should the NFL panic and change the entire playoff format?

BREAKING: Two-time reigning American League Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal won his arbitration case and will make $32 million this year, sources tell ESPN. Skubal’s bet to go for the largest salary ever in the arbitration system paid off, as he’ll make $13M more than Tigers argued.

I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening. The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.
