Someone should research the half life of donation request that result from making a donation to a political campaign and the wasted electricity and resources that go in to them.

I donated some money to a local food bank and over the subsequent 10 years they've send me a letter almost every month asking for more. Surely they've paid more in postage to send me donation requests than the amount of my original small donation.

google, I don't want an ai inbox in gmail I want the search in gmail to work better. Use ai, sure, but like us it to improve the other parts of the app that I already use. I should be able to search for the latest tasks related to something not have to have a new ai tab.

Maybe we should require that ai agents have to announce something like a call sign or disclaimer every so often like we do on the radio. Just a periodic reminder that you are interfacing with an LLM.

Anyone sending any cables these days? Seems like years ago we couldn’t stop talking about cables. Where are the cables today?

I’m pretty sure I haven’t been doing enough brand engagement. Anyone know some good brands to engage with? Who’s engaging with brands right now?

If the police ever catch whoever it is they are searching for with a police helicopter in my neighborhood at 3am can I sue that person for disrupting my sleep? Can I sue the police? Look I am going to go to court one way or the other.

I'd be more willing to donate to political campaigns if it felt like they were actually getting anything done after they win.

me; Ah, finally a product I like that fits me well. I'm so happy to have found it. company that makes it: We are now discontinuing that model forever.

Copilot is like the worst co-worker. Every time I fix an issue it finds in a a pull request it comments on three more. Like, just tell me everything up front, why are you looking for new issues every time?

Joining CashGive is easy, just sign in through your Telegram account and set up a bitcoin wallet. Then we will set you up with an ai that will give your money to people in need automatically based on a news feed we get from X.

ai is a tool like any other, but other tools don't tell me how good I am at using them. Photoshop is never like "Good idea! Using the magnetic lasso tool was definitely better than creating a mask based on channel data!"

someone at apple really said "lets make the playback controls on the macos music app hard to see" and everyone else agreed apparently?

Make a joke, commit to the bit, and never explain yourself. This strategy hasn’t won me any friends or influence, but I’m also not funny.

I am a very amateur animator but I made this five years ago and finally today added sound to it. No AI used (that I’m aware of). All animation by me. Music by Bensound License code: NGWSBCOXHLL4ZRZD Artist: : Benjamin Tissot #animation

While ai can be useful as a tool it is mostly boosting the noise portion of the signal to noise ratio. How much infrastructure and cost is someone like YouTube having to deal with to host millions of bad ai videos? There was always noise, but now it is too easy to make and harder to distinguish.

More than 200,000 Danish citizens have signed a petition to buy California as a response to Trump’s attempt to take Greenland. They say they will provide Californians with “rule of law, universal health care, fact-based politics, and a lifetime supply of Danish pastries.”

Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert, passed away today from cancer. Despite what he later became, he was an enormous inspiration to me, and I think a lot of the comedic flow I do still derives from him.

Several years ago at Spain JS I got up to give an impromptu lighting talk and thoroughly embarrassed myself (in my eyes anyway) and today in the shower, like 10-12 years later, I thought of a much better talk to give. So that just shows you my current mental state.

it really is like a rug pull when so many "jobs" pages on company web sites do such a good job at telling you why you'll love working there and when you finally scroll down through 100 miles of hype you just see "No current openings."

This may seem like a small grievance but there are too many apps that get away with sending one or two marketing push notifications to my phone even though in their own settings I have them disabled. Yes, I could disable notifications at the os level but those apps offer other good notifications.

I am a fan of marching bands and DCI but why do they always add weird extra notes to songs when they play them? The sung version will be like Dah Dah Dah and the marching band version will be like Dah da-diddle da-da and it isn’t like they are covering for a gliss or anything

One thing about using ai or "vibe coding" is that it completely removes any sense of ownership. I don't want to strain this analogy but its sort of like hand-crafted vs mass-produced. Maybe it still works but it wasn't made with much craft or care and probably has quality issues.
