Our pals @50501ky.bsky.social got the #NoKings protest happening tomorrow at Metro Hall at noon. If you're so inclined, come on out to #TeslaTakedown at 11 AM tomorrow for a little warm-up demo! Then jump on I-64 West, you'll be downtown in no time. Bring your rain gear, it's gonna be stormy!
If you can't make it to Washington D.C. this weekend to protest fascism as the streets crumble under heavy armor, why not join us at the Louisville #TeslaTakedown protest Saturday June 14th at 11 AM at 11701 Gateworth Way (off Blankenbaker Parkway) in Middletown?

Americana is a vital part of Louisville, and in particular the South Louisville neighborhood that I call home. Thanks to @signifyingwolf.bsky.social for playing this fundraiser to help them narrow the gap left by federal funds being illegally impounded by the Trump administration!
The No Kings protest map will help you find a place to exercise your First Amendment rights this weekend. (It's also a pretty good argument against the Electoral College.) www.nokings.org
THEATRICAL THURSDAYS! May Day! International Workers Day! And so today’s selection is MATEWAN, the great John Sales film set in West Virginia during the coal wars as the miners’ attempts to unionize were met with violence by Big Coal thugs. #UnionStrong#Solidarity#MayDay

The people I most want to see often don't appear in my feed anymore. There needs to be a way for us to suggest "more of this person." And for anyone who wants to claim this is a purely chronological sorting of people I follow—it absolutely isn't. Some people are being completely filtered out.
NYT needs to correct this disinformation right away. Its reporters are apparently clueless about what's actually going on out there. People with valid visas and green-card holders ARE ABSOLUTELY being deported right now for speech, and without criminal convictions.
In a first for the Ivy League school, Columbia's new officers have the same powers of warrantless search and arrest as any other police officer under New York law. The state law permits the officers to use "physical force and deadly physical force in making an arrest or preventing an escape."
A lot of creative folks are demoralized right now. Hell, I'm one of them. Maybe some of them are helping you through this rough time. If so, do me a solid:
Share their stuff. Drop them a kind word. Tip their Ko-fis, or join their Patreons. It seems like nothing, but it's everything right now. 🤘

Equity Arc, which trains young musicians of color, was set to play with the US Marine Band — until Trump's anti-DEI order canceled the show.
But Chicago stepped up, and now the students will perform at @chicagosymphony.bsky.social on 4/6. Grab a free ticket and join me in cheering them on. cso.org
“Today there isn’t a single state, metropolitan area, or county in the United States where a full-time worker earning the local minimum wage can afford a two-bedroom apartment.”
"The myth that hard work will lead to stability has been shattered, revealing a stark disconnect between the story America tells about itself and the reality of deepening precarity.”
An excerpt from my book, There Is No Place for Us, is out today in @literaryhub.bsky.social:
Not getting much attention, but the Senate GOP is about to start voting - to make sure banks can charge higher overdraft fees. Seriously.
Good time to let your Senators know what you think of that.
Today is Wednesday March 26th. Kentuckians please read and act. It's easy, I just did it, it takes five chill minutes. We need to protect our water, now for the future. For reals.
