My main job is not art, but my boss knows I do illustration work, so today he asks me, hey, can you make a logo quick? There's a team competition my boss wants me to enter and the deadline is end of workday today. I bluescreened before asking more info

Because logo design takes time to discuss, draft, execute, let alone whether I'd get paid for that work - and ignoring that I am working AT THE STORE until end of day, so???

Read the email from his boss with the request. They want people to use AI to generate a bunch of team logos and then they'll vote on best design and the team will get some sort of prize. Grand. I refused obviously but wtf it's so pointless

As shit as AI is and I hate how it causes so much skepticism in general art, one thing that's been a neat to see is more explicit name recognition for the artists working on projects, especially in indie productions It's cool to see an artist's name front+center instead of buried in credit scrolls

This art is experimental and abstract, or polished in a way you might often see, and maybe it uses different techniques from piece to piece, and all of that was a deliberate choice and the skill of ARTIST(s) for the final product!

I've been spoiled plenty, and I feel it's pretty clear to me that what I most enjoyed created was S1 centric, so I'll just continue on with that as it makes me happiest. Still sorry for folks that are feeling especially Much since S3 aired, though ❤️‍🩹

I have been especially keen on finishing Chosen Faces now, though - I always had the ending planned since S1 when I first drafted it, but the kind monster and defender of humanity story feels reassuring to see to conclusion

Wacom recently asked me to talk about why I make queer comics, and given there are multiple bills right now floating around in congress that are effectively "we will kill your livelihood if we get a sniff of queer" I had some pretty strong, simply feelings to relay.

So while at the hospital on Monday, I was describing to the new staff there what I'd done to injure myself. Upon first meeting the new doctor, this super sweet guy repeats, very compassionately, "So I've heard you 'biffed it'?"
