Every day, exhausted indie devs are forced to do marketing, just to survive. But you can make a difference. Credit cards at the ready people, this is not a drill!

Steam Fall sale is ON! Too brain tired after Nighthawks launch to do a proper marketing for this right now. In the meantime, I will have blind faith that public desire for our games transcendes the need for me to tell everyone to buy them. There. Nailed it. store.steampowered.com/developer/Wa...

Starting October off strong with Cregger's Resident Evil in the cinema. FUN. And embracing the spirit of video game tropes, with just the right amount of tongue in cheek.

Right now the world is full of people who want to code and write and paint and film stuff and people who want to play and read and look at and watch stuff and nobody is allowed to do any of that because some unrelated third guy isn't making enough money off the deal

Our games industry is people. Our studios are people. Our teams people, our games by people for people. Our games are made by people, in groups of people, in teams of people, making people things for people. The magic is people, and the people deserve so much better than all this. I am so sorry.

Well, I've been affected by the Bungie layoffs, and I guess I'm now looking for work. I'm a senior narrative designer on Destiny 2. I'm going to thread a little list of stuff I've done on the game; normally I go out of my way to avoid attention, but today I'd appreciate reposts.

You've been good this year - you deserve some books! And local bookshops deserve our support over the bald billionaire's behemoth.

Anti-Prime Day starts…NOW! 🥳 Today through 6/26, enjoy free standard shipping site-wide, all while supporting local, independent bookstores.

Everyone should read this book! Otherwise you might get taken in by the Space Fantasists. Who have a compelling vision to trash our habitable planet, then blast off to be Emperor of some barren rock and a colony of their most dedicated boot lickers. And it has pictures!

Elon Musk becoming the world's first trillionaire is beyond sickening. He's a mass murdering tyrant and simultaneously one of the most pathetic and embarrassing people alive. He's literally hoarding all the resources and making all our lives worse, while spending all his time bashing the poor

This is a source request. I need to speak to a high-end accountant, somebody with experience with large companies. I have a very specific question - ezitron.76 on Signal.

I'm v new (<5yrs) to game dev. But wisdom that instantly made sense to me, and I now apply to all my creative stuff: Prototypes should look bad. Because the pretty polish makes it way harder to see if the IDEA is actually good. If it's fun with a stick figure, you know you're on to something.

We asked the Crystal Dynamics team about its use of generative AI in developing Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. Here’s what Jeff Adams, experience director on the game, had to say.

Thank you to all the very cool people giving me hope for the world today. The arseholes aren't the majority, they're just loud. We can be louder.

Wrong to the point of malpractice

Seems people don't realize that if you're chatting to the AI, all the footage is going straight to Meta. (And underpaid workers in the global South are being forced to watch you poop.)

NEW: Contractors for Meta say they've been tasked with reviewing smart glasses footage in order to train the company's AI. The contractors say they've seen videos showing wearers having sex, undressing & using the bathroom. san.com/cc/what-your...

People look at me like I need a tin foil hat when I say I'd never get a Ring cam, but seriously. Stop paying your own money to install surveillance tech on your private property. Or your own body, for that matter. This was always going to happen.

Could we maybe just agree that the system that creates these horrible humans (and often lets them be in charge of things) is broken? Not saying I have the perfect solution, but MORE OF THE SAME + EXTRA RACISM doesn't seem like a winner.
