Today broke grey and raw for New Democrats here in BC: last night was a body blow. This morning I’m sending solidarity and care to all the progressive organizers - within and beyond electoral politics - who have worked tirelessly over so many years in this province.

Amazing interview with @naomiaklein.bsky.social. Watch 👇

I have refused many invitations to be interviewed by Piers Morgan over the years. This time I made an exception, on the condition that it be one-on-one, not a scream fest, and that it actually be about the book Astra and I wrote. It was... an experience. youtu.be/SMFQBQx-qSU

If you are in BC and haven't voted yet, then... this 👇

Sure I’m upset with the BC NDP for calling this election and other things. But I understand order of magnitude. My frustration with them isn’t within the same galaxy as my concern with handing a blank check of power to an extremist BC Conservative Party that hasn’t even picked their REAL leader yet.

So BC, one of MANY problems with voting for an interim leader who you’re thinking seems “more reasonable” than the rest of their obviously extremist party, is that the extremist party WILL pick a REAL leader AFTER you’ve given them power and can pick their worst extremist option anytime they want.

Albertans deserve real solutions to the crises they face, not scapegoating that divides us and fuels prejudice. Right now, all Canadians have an opportunity to reject this and say: we stand with migrants facing the brunt of this cynical, negative politics.

Let's talk BC's $13.8 billion deficit. Election hopefuls are making their case to voters about how they'll balance the budget while tackling affordability. BC Policy Solutions' Iglika Ivanova joined CBC’s On the Coast to break down how we got here and how the next government should move forward.

We cannot build a stronger Canada by attacking the hard-won rights of First Nations, workers and our environment. The powerful may want us to believe that Canadians are too apathetic to stand up to them. But we are determined to prove them wrong.

Did you know? BC has a revenue problem, not a spending problem. Deep personal and corporate tax cuts in the early 2000s, the elimination of the carbon tax and declining natural resources revenues have all contributed to eroding BC’s fiscal capacity

Aligning BC law with Indigenous rights is not a threat to prosperity. ➡ It’s the path we must take for a more just and secure future. DRIPA offers a path to sustainable land stewardship, economic justice and climate resilience.

Let's talk climate crisis. It's already being felt in communities across BC as we witness increasingly destructive wildfires, floods and extreme heat.
