Screaming Mantis screams to the United States Senate

Very few US Generals read the work of analysts. So a Senator like Jackson becomes a commander via a slip bill, and reads more from analysts than anyone? Is this a narrative? We need more commanders in the US Senate. Slip bill commissions.

I pick NATO and the original Allies over Russia. Every single time. 50 Blessings.

The DSR Network@thedsrnetwork.bsky.social

Since last week, the United States is now pro-Russia, anti-NATO, and anti-democracy. Everything we feared is real. What can we do about this? Where do we go from here? @djrothkopf.bsky.social and @normornstein.bsky.social tackle all of these pressing questions. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

You can't fire the remaining voice of the Reagan Administration. You can't turn them over. They will fire you eventually.

How does firing Americans help make America great again? Cutting 5-8% of the workers is unproductive and harmful to our economy and society. This is just simply reckless and unsustainable. www.cnn.com/2025/02/21/p...

Only the Senate matters, just like when the House of Lords had real squires and princes.

Rep Raskin has been great. Rep Ocasio-Cortez has been great. And Rep Frost and Rep Crockett. Senator Murphy. Maybe no one knew exactly what to do. But such people laid down a clear marker. Let’s respect these and other elected federal representatives who stood out these first few weeks.

Since the Nintendo Virtual Boy, nobody wants to be glued to electronic ski goggles. Nobody loves your product so much they will give it literal head for hours. Nobody cares about your junk that much, virtual or reality!

If it's true that Meta have spent $100 billion on virtual reality and has basically nothing to show for it, is it the biggest failed project of all time? If not, what is? (Let's exclude wars).

The social memory of slavery and serfdom is easily forgotten. Every servant remembers themselves as their lord. Nobody wants to become their work.

Why do people who claim to remember their past lives always seem to be reincarnations of Helen of Troy or an accused Salem witch or someone heroic on the Titanic, and never a random cabbage-selling wench from the 1500s who died in her sleep at the ripe auld age of 39 and never learned to read

You cannot fire what remains of the Reagan Administration.

A number of federal agencies, from HHS to the USDA, have laid off employees only to rescind those terminations days later. An expert says it "suggests something about mismanagement of government."

Every agency is for sale unless the Senate retains its own law and resists any king. The Senate gives so much to a king, from time to time.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez@aoc.bsky.social

Medicaid is not for sale. NASA is not for sale. The Post Office is not for sale. America is not for sale. We have an obligation to resist kings. We outnumber them. And they can be overwhelmed.

Explain to me how Microsoft can so casually bring us into the quantum computing age but searching for a file is still out of their reach?

Over on X, simple tweets by my colleague Greg Bluestein of the Atlanta Journal Constitution have been blocked. They were nothing but video of a town hall held by Rep. Rich McCormick R-GA where he was asked questions about DOGE

Did you know that to make the Milo demo for Kinect, they bonded a real child's soul to an Xbox dev console? They never returned him back to real life. He still lives on that 360. People don't talk about this enough. Perhaps certain interests have silenced the conversation. Mysterious.

Organized crime can't control diplomats and a state department for too long. You have to share power with nations to have actual diplomacy. Organized crime doesn't share power with anyone. Organized crime has no diplomatic power. It isolates nations from the world, and creates only feudalism.

Cheering myself up by looking at an ancient scan of a 1982 USPS booklet I loved as a kid: "P.S. Write Soon," developed jointly by the postal service and the National Council of Teachers of English to instill a love of writing letters. It worked!

This undermines the legislature everyday and every hour. The judges become soldiers, apparently.

Elections in Ukraine must be held only after sustainable peace is achieved, ensuring a free, fair, and democratic process that reflects the will of the people, writes Olga Aivazovska of Civil Network OPORA in her op-ed.
