Federal funding for medical research is vital. Please read the story about the baby's life who was saved by decades of investment across the public and private sector. We need to make sure we don't stifle medical research in this country.

I’m starting to think it MIGHT have been a mistake to put the dumbest motherfuckers alive in charge of the United States government.

"Why SHOULDN'T government be run like a business?" Because the goals are diametrically opposed and mutually exclusive. Businesses exist to make money. Governments exist to make people's lives better. You ask if the fire dept is successful at putting out fires and saving people, not the $ it makes

Nothing tells its own story! Voters won't know what's happening, why it's bad, and who's responsible unless SOMEONE TELLS THEM, and that someone isn't going to be our supine media, so it's got to be Dems. No political strategy is self-executing. You have to act.

It's really disappointing to see that the ideological purity police have descended on Bluesky as well. Folks, you need to learn to not attack people who are on your side, even if they don't agree with you 100%. The other side manages to have a big tent somehow, we should give it a try.

If you want to understand the rise of RFK and other crackpot anti-science types in the 21st century, you have to understand the fusion between conspiracy theorists and New Age flummery, as I wrote in the new edition of The Death of Expertise:

Mitch is good at saying stuff. But if he can interpret a shred of value for himself he'll take the knee in a minute. I put no stock in this.

i mean at this point everything is obviously going to go to shit eventually and theyre going to use that to try to take more power and im a bit concerned the democratic party as currently constructed isnt equipped to handle that threat

And the more people that leave Twitter for good the faster it becomes increasingly irrelevant meaning it’s ability to legitimize false realities is degraded. It can only serve that role so long if it keeps declining (which is all the more reason to help it’s downfall along)
