A little bit of insight to my job

This February, WPN stores are hosting the Magic Presents: Black History Month Celebration, honoring the culture, stories, and expressions of Black identity with a special Commander event! Learn more about our partnership with Black Girls Code here: magic.wizards.com/en/news/anno...

With #MagicConAtlanta only being a few weeks away, we wanted to share our schedule for the weekend and what activities we'll be hosting!

Earlier this month, we held a fundraising stream for Trans Lifeline, and the Magic community showed up in full force. You raised over $79,000 for Trans Lifeline and their mission to provide direct emotional and financial support to trans people. From all of us, thank you.

Missed last MC for my wedding, but we're so back and officially going to #MCAtlanta! 🥳 I'm hosting some Precon Commander events (two have sold out!) and hanging in the command zone, so come say hi! #WOTCStaff mcatlanta.mtgfestivals.com/en-us/magic-...

Going to try and post about a different donation incentive we have every day, today's incentive is custom phyrexian translations! This is the first time we have ever offered this, we only have a few available, and we're already halfway out! tilt.fyi/9uEEK0dIvs

The designers behind your favorite games are uniting for a very special cause! Learn all about the upcoming stream in support of @translifeline.org coming to twitch.tv/magic 10AM Pacific this Saturday: magic.wizards.com/en/news/anno...

!!!PSA: Looks like my discord account got hacked!!! Do not click anything I send you

Drafted my cube for the first time today and of course I have notes from folks on how to improve it, but more importantly people had fun, and that’s all you can ask for

THE BIRDS ARE BACK FOR MAGICCON: ATLANTA! We have a stellar Star Trek Ticketed Play event you can catch on Saturday at 5:30 pm. Tickets are on sale now! We can’t wait to game with you! Huge thank you to @mtgfestivals.com for having us back. Links + info in comment!!! ⬇️ #sponsored #MCAtlanta

About a month left to apply for this for Detroit!

Friday at last…

To say 343 never released a good game is just wrong. I think what 343 did was fail to make Halo this huge flag ship, brand, and IP, that meet the expectations of the shareholders and even fans. I don’t think it was from a lack of trying tho, the passion was there.

Saw a great comment: "This feels similar to when Xbox put the responsibility of the next Fallout game in Obsidian's hands instead of Bethesda's, except Obsidian at least has the pedigree to make Fallout games. Activision is barely good at making Call of Duty anymore"

Everybody in Fire Emblem is brown and hot. What a time to be alive

You can be like these amazing folks in the Gathering Grounds!

If I told young Sameer that I'm at work and all I can think about is going home and reading a book, he would shoot me for breaking and entering.

Applications are now open for MagicCon: Detroit! Creators, cosplayers, press, and more! Check out the site and apply now. #MCDetroit mcdetroit.mtgfestivals.com/en-us/applic...

I want you and your organization at the Gathering Grounds for Magiccon Detroit! If you have a group dedicated to celebrating what makes us different and lifting up historically marginalized and underrepresented groups, this is a place to gather, make new connections, and promote your organization!

Where he belongs

Would you be content as a Content Specialist for Magic? Perhaps your future is only a click (and an application, and probably some interviews, and other things? I don't know how it all works) away! #WotCstaff

Is there such thing as an ok book? (yes there is but you know) I find as i’m getting back into reading nonfiction and being an adult with adult time, if a book isn’t 10/10 i get so mad at the “wasted time”. But hay i’ve also learned a lot from bad books. Like what a good book is.

We have halo spartan assault and spartan strike on Steam but NO HALO 5!?!

Diet Coke is gas and if you don’t like it you’re a punk -the guy from the Allstate commercials

Like Magic? Like writing about Magic? Like working for me? All of your dreams can come true if you apply to this job! job-boards.greenhouse.io/hasbro/jobs/... #wotcstaff

Really cool thing happened this month. I spoke with Justin Kramon from @npr.org about how @magic.wizards.com helps create community for players of marginalized genders and identities. I also brought Justin to experience Magic at our monthly @lotusbloomnyc.bsky.social event!

Life is good cause my biggest mental load right now is greaving Destiny 2 but to help i was gonna lean on my old reliable Halo, but right now it’s full of Larpers and Incels. Does a man not have a home!

I can’t get over the quote “Who would win between a knight and a samurai? Whoever shot first”

Inshallah Magiccon Detroitistan is gonna rock

i got in an argument with someone online about halo lore (i need hobbies) and I was so confused why there person was so bold faced about there opinion not in a debate bro way but like childish way. Then he mentions he got good enough grades so his mom brought him the new game…i think he’s a child

My snow cube is so close to being ready and I can’t wait! Building a cube has been one of the most rewarding experiences ever as a magic player!

History is always written with a nonviolent so other people never rise up and my favorite example is the boston tea “party” all things considered it was a riot. But riots are bad and done by bad people. We are the good guys we had a tea party. thinking about my goat Bhagat Singh

Apply to all the grants!!!

I was a grant recipient for MCPhilly back in 2023! You should apply. Never be the first person to tell yourself ‘no’. The grant can be many things to different people. A fun adventure, a gathering spot, magic. It definitely set me on a path that changed my life! And try to use the full word limit.

Being awarded a New Perspectives grant truly was a gift of lifetime, to experience multiple things and see and make friends I would never have had the chance to. Please apply!

Go apply. Never hurts to try.

Get in this! Seriously. Just fucking apply. Its one of the best things in Magic and it can change your life. It changed mine.

I was selected for #NewPerspectives #MCAtlanta and would be happy to help mutuals with their applications for Detroit. Feel free to DM me. :)

Apply now!

ATTENTION: Applications for the New Perspectives Grant for MagicCon Detroit are LIVE! The Grant is a program that aims to support the inclusion of Magic enthusiasts from historically underrepresented groups by providing assistance with attending MagicCon. magic.gg/news/magicco...
