#CSS typed arithmetic is now baseline in all browsers thanks to the release of #Firefox 158 today: developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/M... No more `tan2(atan2())` hacks 🙂

Firefox 157 has landed, and includes a couple of useful CSS features: 🎉 at-rule() in @supports - lets you limit rules to browsers that support a given at-rule. 🎉 overscroll-behavior: chain - lets scrolling pass up to parent elements, but prevents UA effects like 'bounce' and overscroll. …And more!

The latest @firefoxnightly.bsky.social has CSS random() support enabled by default, please give it a try! I quite like the demos from @polypane.app here: polypane.app/blog/experim...

Firefox now supports the progress() CSS function. This is a math function that can be used in calculations to compute the position of a value relative to a start and an end. bugzilla.mozilla.org/2047345
Firefox 154 arrives pretty soon and I genuinely can't contain my excitement 😇 text-box-trim was the first "big" feature I wanted to contribute but it felt like it was a bit beyond my reach. So I started on some other layout work, and took a detour to work on sibling-index() and sibling-count() ...
Firefox now supports the text-box-trim and text-box-edge CSS properties, and the associated text-box shorthand. These properties allow you to control the leading space above and below text, enabling simpler and consistent vertical spacing and alignment. bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi...
Huge thanks to the developers at @firefox.com for all the assistance and reviews, I'm genuinely having so much fun contributing (special shout out to Emilio, David, Jonathan, and Nicolas!)

It's so nice seeing the excitement around this! I've had a lot of fun building this, took a little longer than I expected but I learned a ton. Looking forward to launching for everyone in Firefox 154. 😀
`sibling-index()` and `sibling-count()` are currently being prototyped in Firefox¹, hopefully available soon for testing :) #cssday ¹ groups.google.com/a/mozilla.or...

AI is trying to take everything from me, my job, em dashes, now "shape" ☹️
Is it just me, or do LLMs seem to love the word "shape"? "Shape of the problem." "Shape of the solution." Program architecture and data flow? "Code shape." Bug report structure? "Issue shape." One of those "once you see it, you can't unsee it" sort of shapes in life, I shappose.
