RSpanner

I'm Robyn, a queer freelance artist from the UK. For the past few years, I have been working in graphic design, concept art and illustration for games, but I also do comics and animation (videos for stills in thread!) #portfolioday Contact and other spaces: rspanner.carrd.co

In my book I argue that IP fandoms are a crucial part of the economic model of the current media monopoly landscape, as fan campaigns drive down the value of creative labor via harassment and disposability, scare artists from taking risks with IP, and give execs a direct fan base all their own

This creature @rspanner.bsky.social ate half of its body weight in chinese food and begged for dessert, I'm high key impressed

325gb of art and material that artists and animators weren't allowed to use in portfolios to keep themselves fed.

Without Question (2024) - (1/3) A Tessduin comic My answer to the question of where Tess Greymane was during the burning of Teldrassil. (Trigger warning: inferno/fire, blood, burns)

"Heart of Mine" The world may take much from a man, yet sometimes grace remains in the small arms around his neck, and in the son who still calls him home. ☀️ #warcraft #bloodelf #sindorei #art

As someone who works at an art store, I absolutely love it when parents ask about art supplies for their kid or let the kid find their chosen art supplies. It is so good.

oh my god i can finally share it here after all this time

Blizzcon was wild! I'm so sorry I wasn't able to see everyone I had planned to, Saturday was such an early start and then Sunday got real intense, but I'm still glad I was able to meet and catch up with as many people as I did! 💙

BlizzCon was so amazing this year & there is so much to look forward too and get excited about. But omg Holly Longdale and her AMAZING outfit ✨ I couldn't resist I just wanted to draw her so bad!!! I love how this outfit gives a sense of adventure and optimism. Can't wait to try WoWF #forthehorde

I really shouldn’t have fixed my sleep schedule before going to America. Oh boy.

The very first car I saw when I stepped out of LAX today was a cyber truck.

Happy Neon Odyssey play test weekend! I drew Enzo and Talula a while back for this setting, but I think Kedari would be a motlien, maybe a tracer? Another scoundrel? I’m too indecisive.

I think another lesson to take from the loss of both Dolly and Tim Curry is that neither of them took themselves seriously but they took the work dead serious that's the most important thing pour all of yourself into the craft but have fun and don't get an ego.

"My little butterfly wings are getting kinda tired." Dolly knew the power of leading with love. She is, and will always be, an inspiration and an example. She's been a guiding light in my life and so many others. An angel on earth went home. We'll always love you, Dolly.

When I got my car, the dealership mistakenly left a Dolly CD in it from the old owner and I haven't taken it out since I got it. It always plays for a bit before my bluetooth connects. It's why I nicknamed it after her.

honestly i saw the emergency alert i assumed that the nukes were launched and we were done for, but

The more OTHER art you consume outside of your own type of art (ie for me: writing, music), the better you get at YOUR type of art.

"Indies will save us" No! YOU WILL SAVE INDIES! Go leave a review for that neat indie game you like, share the trailer for an upcoming game you're anticipating, tell your fave developer they did a good job, go tell people about such and such game that's just come out, you can make a difference!

She turned into starlight. (More OUAS fanwork, or rather why she needed freckles in the last one.) @avantris.bsky.social Animated in Procreate Dreams #animation #legendsofavantris #onceuponastarlight

"this stuff actually IS valuable. if it wasn't, people wouldn't be stealing it. rewatching hbomberguy's plagiarism video and just having to pause at the obvious but easily forgotten point that I needed to feel with my whole soul at this moment.
