so weird to realize that a clip circulating tumblr a couple years ago touting to be a Sora AI clip of a 'drunk elf' was actually a real animated clip from a 2015 animated adaptation of a french comic series called DOFUS

it seems like most of the old comics legends that turn to AI end up doing so out of laziness and a lack of understanding (or maybe sympathy) for how the art world views it ethically.. it's a shame and stinks but at least we have their old work that still stands on its own, yknow

i think older people make these bad decisions because the world is evolving extremely fast and many people over 50 just aren't accustomed to culture shifting literally minute-to-minute because of the internet and the 24 hr news cycle

like i don't think people are evil for, when being shown a tool that is touted to make their lives instantly easier, using it without knowing much of the discourse surrounding it it's disappointing, it's frustrating, it makes me angry, but i try to step back and realize why this has been happening
