Here’s where Donald Trump’s presidency is costing you the most: 1. Gas: +42.8% 2. Health Care: +14.6% 3. Electricity: +12.7% 4. Child Care: +7.1% 5. Rent: +5.3% 6. Groceries: +3.7% It’s not just you – all Americans are feeling it.

I’m working to put more money back into Nevada families’ pockets, including through legislation that increases the housing supply to lower costs, and by demanding Trump release federal funding he is withholding that would help lower your electric bills.

For over a century, the NV Northern Railway has been a staple of Northern NV – first to serve copper mines in the area, and now as a historic and cultural destination. I’m proud to have secured $3 million in federal funding to rehabilitate nearly 127 miles of the century-old rail corridor.

This is a major first step in reconnecting the corridor to the national railway system, and I’ll keep working to support transportation services across our state.

It was a pleasure to visit NLVFD’s new Fire Training Center with NLV Fire Chief Joseph Calhoun! While I was there, I saw the indoor classroom space, training grounds, and their new ambulance simulator – the only one in Southern Nevada that replicates the back of a fire department rescue unit.

This new facility, which was made possible by federal funding I helped secure, will train NLVFD’s newest Fire Academy recruits and provide hands-on advanced training for seasoned firefighters.

Our firefighters deserve the best equipment and training needed to keep themselves and our communities safe, and I’ll keep working to support them in any way I can.

Our servicemembers and their families sacrifice so much to protect our freedom, which is why it’s so important that we make sure they have access to the community and support they need while living on base.

Senator Lankford and I introduced a bipartisan bill to close gaps in child care services and open the door for new providers, which will ensure our servicemembers have care available to support their families.

$686 million – that’s how much extra Nevada families have paid at the gas pump since the start of Donald Trump’s war in Iran. Trump needs to end this war in a way that keeps Americans safe, doesn’t reward Iran, and ensures the Strait of Hormuz remains open so Nevadans can afford gas again.

Each year, I have the great privilege of nominating Nevadans to attend one of the United States Service Academies, giving students the opportunity to serve our nation while receiving a top-notch college education. Our application portal is open through October 31st. Apply today:

Donald Trump’s reckless economic policies and war in Iran are driving up the price on almost everything, squeezing American families’ budgets. And what does Trump think about it? He “loves the inflation.”

Congress came together in a bipartisan way to punish Vladimir Putin and increase pressure on Russia to end its brutal and unprovoked war against Ukraine. Then last night, Trump brazenly threw a lifeline to Putin to try to cover for his failed policies that have made gas prices soar. (1/2)

Breaking News: President Trump signed an executive order to exempt Russia from new sanctions legislation that Congress passed last month. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/16/u...

I’m outraged by this betrayal of American interests and the Ukrainian people, and by this Administration’s complete capitulation to Putin. This is just another way Trump is choosing to enable Russia’s war machine and submit to Putin, making us weaker. (2/2)

Trucks that deliver groceries to the store run on diesel – and when diesel prices rise, that means your grocery bill rises with them. Donald Trump’s war in Iran is trickling down to make everything you buy more expensive.

NBC News@nbcnews.com

The price of the fuel, used by farmers and truckers, is up more than 75% since the start of the Iran war in late winter. Diesel costs have become a particular concern for economists, who say higher diesel fuel costs trickle down into “just about everything.”

Nevadans are sick of paying more for health care, gas, groceries, and rent because of Trump’s tariffs and war in Iran.  While Trump continues to insist the economy is great, Nevadans know the truth: his leadership has cost them $4,400 extra since he took office. Here’s how it breaks down:

Is anyone surprised that hardworking American families have been footing the bill for Trump’s tariffs?    You can thank Trump for the higher prices you’re paying on almost everything.

The Trump Admin decided to let $232 million in federal funding expire, shortchanging funding set aside to help families in rural communities buy homes. This funding would have helped families get the financing they need to afford a home they can call their own.

This is the second year in a row that health care will become more expensive for Nevadans who buy their insurance on the Marketplace due to Republicans’ refusal to work with Democrats to extend the ACA’s enhanced premium tax credits.

For 251 years, the U.S. Navy has safeguarded our nation’s freedom. Nevada is so proud to be home to Naval Air Station Fallon, the Navy’s premier tactical air warfare training center. Thank you to every sailor, past and present, for your extraordinary service and heroism.

Las Vegas is seeing some of the highest gas prices in the nation, and when Nevadans have to pay more at the gas pump, that means they have to cut back their spending on everything else. Trump’s war in Iran is affecting ALL Nevadans, and it needs to end.

Nevada is proud to be home to 28 federally recognized Tribes, Bands, and Colonies who have made tremendous contributions to our state. On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we recognize the resilience, history, and culture of Nevada’s Indigenous communities.

Another egregious lie from Donald Trump: days after he promised to stop wasting your taxpayer dollars on his campaign ads, another ad aired that still says it’s “Paid for by the U.S. Government.” WATCH:

Yet another person has been shot by ICE — this time in New York City while his 5-year-old son was sitting in the back seat of the car. There must be a full, independent investigation into this incident - the American people deserve answers and accountability now.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

An ICE officer fired at least seven rounds into a car on a crowded New York street Thursday afternoon, city officials said, wounding a man while a 5-year-old boy sat unharmed in the back seat.

Former Air Force Sergeant Dave Crete brought a major injustice to light and is advocating on behalf of his fellow veterans who served within the NTTR and were exposed to radiation and other toxins but have been denied VA benefits while the DOE civilians they served alongside are covered.

Latina women are the backbone of Nevada’s economy, but they’re still paid an average of only 53 cents for every dollar earned by white, non-Hispanic men.    Equal pay for equal work is LONG overdue. As we recognize Latina Equal Pay Day, I’ll keep fighting until every woman is paid fairly.

Last year, Congressional Republicans refused to work with Democrats to extend the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced premium tax credits that help make health insurance affordable, driving up premium costs for those who buy their insurance on the Marketplace. 🧵

But this was just the beginning. As we enter open enrollment season, ALL Americans will pay HIGHER health care costs each month, regardless of where you get your insurance.
