CoPE-B-S1 is the next step. It's open-weight under Apache 2.0, so you can self-host it and keep your users' content on your own infrastructure, and it uses Jev's JSON spec, so it's a drop-in swap. Model card and weights: huggingface.co/zentropi-ai/... Go build with it!

We're shipping CoPE-B-S1, an open-weight decision model tuned for safety use cases. It's a significant step forward for our CoPE family of models in a few ways. A thread: blog.zentropi.ai/meet-cope-b-...

Good morning, Malmö! I’m excited to hang out with and learn from people building messaging and social experiences on the open, decentralized #Matrix protocol. 😊 And if you have any questions about @roost.tools, our open source trust & safety tools Coop & Osprey, or T&S in general, I’d love to chat!

surprise! @roost.tools will be guest speaking in @mackesque.bsky.social's session about how @matrix.org uses Coop, Osprey, and HMA to protect servers and people! Matrix has also published Matrix specific plugins for HMA so anyone building on matrix can use these tools!

Aaaand Osprey 1.2 is out. 😊 It’s a minor release, but has quite a bit of work that’s gone into it. Hopefully future releases will actually be smaller and more frequent as we settle into a release cadence.

ROOST president @camillefrancois.bsky.social sat down with @reidhoffman.bsky.social and Aria Finger to talk about the partners, teams, contributors, scientists, and really the community of people who have come together over the past 18 months to make online safety tools available for everyone.

Open source safety has taken big steps forward, but there’s still more to be done. Camille talked about what it will take to close the gap, where the hardest problems in safety sit, and the fellow travelers taking this bet alongside us to raise the floor for safety everywhere.

We’re still refining our processes, but I think we went too long between releases! 😅 For a relatively minor update, there’s so much good stuff coming in Coop 1.1.0. And a ton from adopters using Coop in production, or first-time contributors. It’s exciting to see this community grow and develop. 😊

Open source is new territory for trust and safety! more safety tools are being released free or open source than ever, but this is a new practice. what does it actually mean to release something as open source, and what does it take to run open source tools like Coop or Osprey for a team?

When it comes to using open source, teams have to decide whether to self-host (and keep full control of the data and infrastructure) or use a vendor-managed version. Perhaps unsurprisingly, there is no right answer! It depends on a team's existing infrastructure, data requirements, and capacity.
