the more i read about more AI the more it seems like the 21st century version of the enclosure laws basically the stealing of common resources, in this instance that resource being data instead of land en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enclosure

does the data grab by AI companies parallel the enclosure of common land in England? a common resource, in this case data instead of land, being co-opted by individuals for private gain

The 2004 comedy Napoleon Dynamite was an indie sensation. It only cost $400,000 and two of its star's testicles to make. We salute you, actor Jon Heder, on your #BicycleBirthday! Born October 26, 1977

It's a good job Suella Braverman claimed £45,000 for water bills on her parliamentary expenses. If she had failed to declare a ten quid overpayment on Universal Credit, she'd have been in serious trouble then.

just switched into Jamie’s 20 minute meals. he’s handling raw beef then grabbing jars, and bottles without washing his hands 😨 i don’t eat meat, so i’m not the target audience for this recipe, but it’s all a bit unsettling

Burnham’s government is telling people to stockpile food & water in case of a climate crisis/“technological dependency” while contributing to that climate crisis with Jackdaw & embedding *Palantir* into government systems. Labour is literally saying “protect yourselves from our bad decisions.” 1/2

Since 2016, London’s cycling network has grown fivefold, from 90 to 450 kilometres. The results? 1.5 million daily cycle journeys—a 43% increase since 2019—twice as many bikes as cars on City of London streets during the day, and motor traffic in steady decline—having fallen 25% in the same period.

It struck me that almost every seemingly intractable problem on today's front pages could be substantially alleviated simply by taxing the extraordinarily wealthy people and corporations whose greed, short-termism and pursuit of power we protect at the expense of almost everything else.

as a veteran car hater, even i’m learning some shocking new things from this excellent video “700 children a day killed in car crashes” 😨 #MustWatch #CarsRuinEverything

Get Hancock, Johnson and the rest up in court where justice can be carried out.

I mean… How long do we have to put up with this shit? We really do get it. Farage’s greed makes him an insane security threat. And there’s absolutely nothing altruistic or democratic or good for the country that will come from his frenzied corruption. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Danny Tommo's 'patriot platform' vigilantes were refused service in The George Inn, Portsmouth. They demanded to know why, despite the fact they do not have to be given a reason. Always make bigots feel unwelcome. Show the pub some love for doing the right thing. Things you love to see ✊❤️
