School is back after a nice, long New York summer. It was a pleasure to greet parents and kids on the first day of school at PS 89 with District 1 Superintendent Kelly McGuire. I wish all 900,000+ NYC public school students a great year.

Rogue ICE agents have roamed our streets completely unidentified, acting with impunity. As I work to pass a mask ban at the federal level through my No Secret Police Act, I'm proud to see New York leading the way on holding ICE accountable.

As we commemorate Juneteenth, we celebrate freedom and honor the brave Americans who fought so hard for it. Today is a day to both celebrate how far we have come and to recommit to the ongoing fight for justice and equality for all.

I’m so proud to represent one of New York City’s largest and most vibrant Puerto Rican communities — Loisaida. What a great evening celebration at the Rhythms of the LES hosted by Assemblymember Grace Lee and Community Leader Daisy Paez. Wepa!

Kash Patel has wasted over a million of your taxpayer dollars to hand out bonuses to his friends. According to this administration, we don’t have money for SNAP, schools, roads, bridges, or healthcare - but there’s plenty to go around for Trump Administration cronies. www.ms.now/news/kash-pa...

ms.nowKash Patel may have a 'personal slush fund' of taxpayer dollars to pay loyalist agents, says RaskinRep. Jamie Raskin is demanding documents from the FBI director, citing claims that $8,000 payments are made to agents who carry out “unlawful partisan and personal orders.”

Yet they face constant attack in federal courts and by the Trump admin’s lawless deportation dragnet, with over 150 DACA recipients wrongfully deported this past year alone. This is their home. It’s time for @HouseGOP to stop the political games and join us in passing a clear path to citizenship.

A $1 million-per-person fundraiser for Trump’s super PAC on Saturday and a UFC match on White House grounds on Sunday? No one is that naive.

The top super PAC backed by President Trump is set to hold a $1 million-per-person fundraiser the day before he hosts Ultimate Fighting Championship matches on the White House grounds.

This President is honoring America’s 250th by degrading the office into a cash grab for himself and his allies. Nothing celebrates democracy better than Trump selling access and influence to the highest bidder.

. @governor.ny.gov was entirely right to end the 287(g) agreements because our local criminal law enforcement does not exist to serve as an extension of ICE’s lawless civil immigration dragnet. Let’s be clear: New York turns over to ICE immigrants who have completed their criminal sentences.

But ICE wants NY to use our limited criminal law enforcement officers to help them round up immigrants who have committed no crimes. If Homan follows through with this desperate federal overreach, my office & our coalition will be on the ground to fight back. New Yorkers will not be intimidated.

Ten years have passed since the heartbreaking mass shooting at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, where 49 lives were stolen & 53 were wounded in an act of pure hate & bigotry. Every year that passes is another reminder that we cannot allow weapons of war to tear these gaping holes in our communities.

And it’s a further reminder that we must reject hate of all kinds because it never stops at one group. This Pride Month, we recommit our efforts to defeat this hate, protect our LGBTQIA+ friends and neighbors, pass common-sense gun safety laws, and work to build stronger, more peaceful communities.

As Chair of the House Bipartisan Task Force to Combat Antisemitism, I proudly introduced the bipartisan, bicameral Jewish American Security Act alongside Rep. Mike Lawler that will take significant steps to fight antisemitism on schools and campuses, synagogues and non-profits, and online.

Trump’s temper tantrum when pressed for evidence of his baseless allegations is the classic behavior of a guilty defendant who withers under basic cross-examination. His entire platform is built on conspiracy theories that disintegrate the moment he is challenged to provide proof.

WOW - Trump crashes out & cuts his interview w/ Welker short as she presses him on his lack of evidence for claiming elections are rigged "You're either crooked or you're stupid. I've had enough. Thank you darling," he tells her" "I traveled all the way to Wisconsin for this interview," she pleads

What was so telling was the rage Trump showed when a journalist did not cower from his bullying. Trump operates like a mob boss using threats, fear and intimidation, but when you stand up to bullies, they can’t handle it.  That’s how you beat Donald Trump.

The Administration tried to impose a staggering $100K fee on H-1B visas, essentially taxing the very hospitals & businesses that rely on specialized talent to fill critical shortages & harming our local economies. Once again, a federal court had to remind the Trump admin how our Constitution works.

Breaking News: A federal judge rejected the Trump administration’s policy of imposing $100,000 fees on employers for skilled worker visas.

The American people don’t care whether Tom Homan enjoyed his lunch. What matters is whether people who are lawfully here yet still detained by our government have access to adequate medical care, safe living conditions, and basic human dignity – and they do not at Delaney Hall.

. @icegov.bsky.social thought they could get away with breaking the law in broad daylight today. They were wrong. This morning, I confronted ICE agents outside an immigration court room to remind them that they are prohibited from arresting anyone who appears as required at immigration court. (1/4)

Within minutes, one of my staff members demanded his belongings from ICE while NYLAG prepared an emergency lawsuit and his kids had a snack and played games. Realizing they could not defend the arrest in court, ICE quickly released him to his family. (3/4)

They didn’t seem to care and arrested a father outside of the courtroom right in front of his wife and two young kids. Our volunteer coalition immediately brought the family to my office’s triage center and my team sprung into action. (2/4)

My amendments simply required DHS agents to visibly display credentials during operations and banned lawless courthouse arrests. But as usual, Republicans voted to shield federal overreach from the law.

As the Trump administration weaponizes immigration courts and expedites cases without regard to due process, our district triage center is holding the line to stand up for the rule of law and human dignity.

Blanche is saying it plainly: he is not interested in protecting American’s rights or upholding the rule of law. His only priority is protecting Trump and his cronies – including building legal & financial escape hatches for them. What happened to “law and order,” @houserepublicans.bsky.social?

Acting AG Todd Blanche says he's working to install "roadblocks" to prevent Democrats from prosecuting Trump and his associates in the future

While the detention center at 26 Federal Plaza is largely back to operating as a processing facility, across the street at 290 Broadway, mega master hearings are proceeding with over 500 immigration cases on the docket today alone.
