I need to help out my parents' small businesses which are relying on weak PC hardware and running Windows 10/11. Most of the things that are done in the PCs don't require Windows at all, though. Most PCs are equipped with 4GB of RAM and 128GB SSDs, and low-end x86 processors from 8+ years ago. (1/6)
It's a ton of requirements so I'm not sure such a distro and the necessary addons exist, but if there is, it would save us from many headaches and a ton of money that would be spent on newer hardware. Even if it costs us some time getting everything to work smoothly. Hope someone can help out! (6/6)

...IBM Trusteer Rapport to protect from banking frauds and such. I'd also need them to work reliably with Windows file formats such as .xlsx spreadsheets with images, which didn't behave nicely with LibreOffice. That was on Windows though so I don't know if this behaviour would repeat on Linux (4/6)

There is a Windows server running a SMB share through the local network, so that part's probably easy to set up. However, some others I'm not so sure, like some PCs are connected to banking card readers, so they handle transactions. The Windows server also has a MS-SQL server, which I can't... (2/6)

“We are collateral damage.” - Mark Graham, Wayback Machine When preservation is caught in the crossfire, it’s not just libraries that lose—it’s the public’s access to history, knowledge, and truth. The web shouldn’t disappear behind closed doors. ➡️ www.sfexaminer.com/news/technol...
If you made it this far, I'll also link this good discussion video on F1's 2026 engine regulations. I'll also clarify on the throttle input recharge: it could work the same as super clipping, but it'd be less intuitive for the drivers to figure out their throttle position with such precision. (6/6)
In which T is the threshold the team chooses to not deploy MGU-K power below it (e.g. 70% throttle) and T_input is what is currently the throttle position. You can see it in quali before a driver crosses the active aero line on the start/finish straight, as they don't go full power until there (3/6)
