Introducing Flint: a fast, friendly linter. Flint is an experimental linter made to validate several hypotheses: hybrid linting, streamlined rich configuration, thorough docs & plugins, and tooling coordination. Expect to hear more about Flint over the next month. ❀️‍πŸ”₯ www.flint.fyi/blog/introdu...

This Month in React, February 2024: Updated new project docs! The core team shipped new docs and a blog post; Sunsetting Create React App. This comes after much back-and-forth about what to do with the project, with the core team generally recommending against SPAs (and de-emphasizing Vite)

This Month in React, January 2025: Movement happening on Create React App, is Redwood.js dead? This month, the main subject of conversation was Create React App, and digesting how it's been socially understood to be deprecated for years without ever formally having been marked as such

We know that any application will get spammed with invalid submissions from around the world, but unfortunately that's table stakes for a public online job board. What we'd like, though, is to provide more ways for those who engage honestly to rise to the top

I dream of a reputation system where people can flag those they've worked with as being good collaborators, and wonder if it would be useful to add a means to verify one's identity as a show of trust. What's stopping you from using the job board? Maybe I can fix it

What I (@vcarl.com) am most excited about, though, is that this is directly powered by our Discord bot that enforces our job board rules. Where previously these messages were simply ingested and published as they came in, now they must pass a series of validation tests before being shared

This had actually gotten quite crufty over the years, and the bot powering the job board on our website finally gave up the ghost in December, no longer publishing new posts. This is a from-scratch rewrite that takes advantage of a bunch of recent improvements within the server, and tees up more

My newest course - HTML & CSS for absolute beginners - is completely free, so I figured while it's on my course platform, I might as well put it on YouTube as well. As I go through, adding titles and thumbnails to 50 videos all at the same time, I'm debating whether this was such a good idea πŸ˜†
