America is beautiful, contradictory, unfinished. I am proud of our country even as we constantly strive to make it better, to protect and deepen our democracy, to fulfill its promise for each and every person who calls it home. Happy Independence Day. No Kings in America.

Man, running game events is stressful, and I'm not even in the room for it. Still, nothing gets the adrenaline pumping like 'there's 40 people in a room depending on the game to work smoothly for a competitive experience' and then the servers have a momentary hiccup. #indiedev #gamedev

@boontavista.com The moment when Andrew hard launches "Plapril" in Bonus episode: The Velvet Underground Of Teaching Orangutans To Breastfeed by saying "Give our show a little plug" and Theo says "flared base" under his breath and nobody mentions it. Feedback: You're all beautiful and perfect.

Okay, this is pretty cool - seeing the way the game's progressed is neat. I'll have to see if I can dig up any of the even older footage I have.

From our first build to now, Chaos Agents has come a long way. Check out this side-by-side tribute to the evolution of the game — made possible by our amazing community on Republic.republic.com/popularium #ChaosAgents #Republic #GameDev #IndieGames

Also: if you're interested in the alpha test for an autobattler royale designed by Richard Garfield, let me know - spots are available if you treat me right.

the problem with The Signal Chat isn't that they added the editor in chief of the atlantic. the problem with The Signal Chat is WHY WAS THIS INFORMATION ON SIGNAL AT ALL. the fact that none of the 20-odd people in this signal chat said "HEY MAYBE SIGNAL ISN'T RIGHT FOR THIS" is a really bad sign!!

I have listened to roughly 390 episodes of @boontavista.com and bonus episode "Flamin' Hot Junjo Itos" is the first time I have ever heard a post-record drop-in correction. The correction: 'woman who broke into zoo to feed monkeys Cheetos was not, in fact, an employee of the zoo.' truly staggering.

I'm working on this game and it's been a really neat journey so far. Come by if you can - it's going to be a good time. I'd love to also be there myself, but Europe's a long way away. Seems like only yesterday we had a bunch of spheres moving around on a featureless plain.

Lovely people of #gamedev - what are your thoughts on tutorials? I'm working on an autobattler royale, which has some nuances we'd like to communicate as quickly as possible, but striking a balance between serving up lore, dumping information about mechanics and getting people into their first match

as quickly as possible so they can see if they like the general vibes of the game before they commit to lore dumps is fairly difficult. What's the ideal length for a tutorial sequence? We're trying to walk people through a 2-3 match training sequence and then unlock multiplayer.

Dealing with Azure is a hassle, but realizing that my game gets a significant performance boost for ~55% of the cost of our current AWS setup is a really unexpected bonus. Friendship ended with c5.4xlarge - now Azure Standard D8as v6 is my best friend. #gamedev

In before a bunch of upcoming visual improvements and a number of other structural changes, here's a screenshot of some alpha gameplay of Chaos Agents, the autobattler royale I'm working on. #screenshotsaturday #gamedev

I want to love Outer Wilds because apparently everyone else in the world thinks it's amazing. I keep bouncing off of it, though - something about the 3d motion with thrusters just doesn't click for me and it's embarrassing.

Does anyone actually prefer GA4 to Universal Analytics? If so, can tell me why? I feel like they moved a bunch of the information (specifically around events) that I used to be able to look at within GA to "nowhere". I know it's there because I'm pushing it in via GTM but I can't access it.
