Raul Saavedra

Hey everyone! I am new here and happy to get to know new people! I am a frontend engineer living in Columbus, OH since early 2024. I recently moved from Chile to the US after getting married (7 year LDR) 🌎 In my free time, I like weightlifting, yoga, traveling, and gaming. Excited to meet you all!

We’re live!! My brand-new course, “Whimsical Animations”, is now available. 🥳🎉 whimsy.joshwcomeau.com I’m so excited to share all of my animation tools and techniques with y’all. 😄

✨ Big O ✨ Let me take you on a visual introduction to what big O notation is in my new blog post: samwho.dev/big-o. With big O notation you can better understand how algorithms will perform in practice, finding orders of magnitude improvements often with very simple changes to your code.

I figured out how to add the official Playwright browser automation MCP to Claude Code. Run this before you start "claude": claude mcp add playwright npx '@playwright/mcp@latest' Now Claude Code can use a Chrome browser directly! Here's my TIL: til.simonwillison.net/claude-code/...

"Discipline is the purest form of self-respect." - Jim Burrows As of this moment this has become one of my favorite quotes of all time.

🎉 Introducing my upcoming third course, Whimsical Animations! This course will teach you how to build top-tier animations and interactions using a variety of techniques. ✨ You can join the waitlist on the course’s brand-new site, which is the most ridiculous thing I’ve built in quite some time:

1/5 Turning 40 & reflecting on a decade of @frontendmasters.com: From strip mall beginnings to beyond my dreams. The foundation? Technical skills, community (60+ talks!), writing skills & business fundamentals. Key lesson: Build diverse skills early! 🚀

“You can’t be a performance expert without also being an images expert” A quote that has been living rent free in my head for years, thanks to @gri.gs

I am happy to share that I’ve successfully completed The Joy of React course from @joshwcomeau.com Before I didn’t feel confident of my React skills, despite having years of experience. Josh’s course helped me build a great foundation I will use for the rest of my career! www.joyofreact.com

Friends! I've decided to go back to FTE and need your help finding good opportunities. I want to work on web apps again on a great team. I can do product or platform work, am great at React & TS, but happy to grow outside that bubble for the right thing. DMs are open!

Had lots of fun working on the Project Wordle challenge from The Joy of React by @joshwcomeau.com Highly recommend his course! github.com/raulsaavedra... project-wordle-zeta.vercel.app
