I don't want to alarm anyone, but I did ULTRA MILD yoga last night (despite my chronic pain), and this morning I feel GREAT. This is like if the solution for weight loss was eating vegetables or something.

I would love to see wild success stories of people who didn't make it big until their fifties or later. Don't give me "thirty under thirty" - give me "finally at fifty." Then give me credit for the idea and make me rich and famous, too. I'll be over here.

As long as AI can be used to hack servers, couldn't we ask it to hack them just to patch them? "Claude, attempt to hack this website, and if you get in, patch it, leave a note for the administrator, and disconnect."

(with apologies to Frost, Williams, and Kipling) This is just to say so much depends upon the plums that were in a red wheelbarrow. I took the one and everything that's in it on a snowy evening, and that has made all the difference.

I hate that the whole world knows about "Yes, and" now. That was like our little secret in improv land in decades past. I had one comedy skill and it's now transparent to everyone. Time to start honing my flatulence humor, I guess. (Yes, butts.)

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

Do non-software engineers understand that LLM-based coding is never going away? Anthropic and others might collapse, but tech for writing software can already run okay on a high end computer. I get hating AI for many reasons, but for coding? It's here to stay. Don't waste energy hating that.

Fight the environmental damages, the driving up of energy costs, the theft and the job losses and the fakes and the slop. Some of those issues can be solved, and should be combated. Just know that LLMs aren't all bad. Coding is just one example. AI code is in every modern piece of software you use.

I'm pro-regulation. AI companies should be carbon neutral. Art-slop (slart?) should be identified so we can more easily boycott it. I just don't want people to be SO full of anger that all they do is rant and feel bad, instead of acting on the anger. You may now commence dunking and/or blocking.

If there were a nationwide Day of Action - dedicated to fighting MAGA and fascism - what would you hope people would do on that day? (Voting doesn't count. That's a given.)

That's a real nice piece of anecdotal evidence you got there. Be a shame if somebody countered it with scientific studies

A friend's child has a loose tooth. The lad told me that since it's on the bottom row, he'll only get coins from the Tooth Fairy, but that top-row teeth get paper money. I don't remember hearing about this new policy but I think it was part of Obamacare.

How the hell does Mamdani and his team get so much done? I just washed my dishes for the first time all week.

Want to learn about the history of our city?  Well you’re in luck. This month, we’re hosting a massive scavenger hunt across the city — all about the history of organizing in NYC. Sign up at organize.nyc.gov and come see the city through the eyes of the people who built it.

This is wild new information, I was always taught at Boy School that the teen girls in old Beatles footage were screaming because someone asked them to do math.

Literally everyone will tell you that.

I know the Photoshop job on this site listing makes it look like the treadmill is very large, but the model is actually 7'1", so the treadmill is actually even bigger

When your friends tell you you're a nerd, it's so much worse than when you hear it from Borzak, the twelfth level robo-sorcerer who nobody but you can see

If you build a better mousetrap, the world will beat a path to your door. The world of mice, I mean. They're drawn to the trap from miles away - so many mice, dying by the thousands! And there's no way to turn it off! Oh god, what have you done?!
