every single reporting of this new feature is extremely obnoxious because its fearmongering about a highly requested feature that stems from discussions surrounding troubleshooting and whatnot becoming relegated to closed off discord servers instead of public forums and discussion boards.

1am ttrpg rant: a lot of what cyberpunk 2020 is trying to do in its mechanics, writing, and world is handled with a lot of intent and is often pointed to a prescient extent, and then shadowrun basically always takes the same topic and removes the nuances in favor of being a kludgy second-run

i like that the ttrpg says that the empathy stat is more a measure of how alienated you are, and the broad thesis of its future is that the inhumanity of late capitalism and the total alienation of now the body itself causes our ape brains to break in a world that's advanced past our wetware
