If you are a legal academic, you are probably wondering about the rules around AI disclosure in law reviews. So were we. Each law review we looked at asked for something different, so if you use AI (I don’t), you should take a look. We can’t promise answers, but the questions are fascinating.

Do you know if there are any conversations going on about law review editors using AI to edit accepted articles? I can imagine that across the hundreds of law reviews that there will be a temptation to use AI to fix footnotes, add parentheticals, and even edit. 1/2

But the result could be that an author who did not use AI to draft would still be flagged by an AI detection scan. We have focused correctly on the need for author disclosure and perhaps not using AI to draft, (I don’t use any FYI), but I worry that one could still be flagged if the editors do.

good @profferguson.bsky.social quote in this one: “My fear is that there will be a Pyrrhic victory of winning the battle against Flock but losing the war against mass surveillance”

To temper the backlash, communities have been switching out Flock cameras for different ALPRs with nearly identical capabilities, merely evading the negative connotation of the brand name while maintaining the surveillance. buff.ly/E60kN30
