Donovan: But the government's position is that her statement is false? Witt: The false statement is where she says "I don't have any knowledge of said laptop." Donovan: And "said laptop" refers to a *hypothetical* laptop that you just testified about? Witt: Yes

If the US shouldnt be giving military aid to any foreign government, country, that targets journalists, theres one pretty obvious place to start.

1/ This isn't front page news, but it's important. For years, Congress has said no taxpayer money to Egypt to help them repress free speech. But Trump ignored Congress. And a disaster resulted for the Egyptian people. Soon, maybe disaster for us. apnews.com/article/rubi...

There can be no clearer distillation of Republican policy than deporting a decorated educator while welcoming a criminal failson.

The problem with Justin Webb’s position at the BBC is not just his flagrant bias, or his writing for the Mail, or his audible prejudices, it’s that all those things make him embarrassingly bad at analysing politics. β€œLeft = firebrand = too woke = trouble for Dems” is about his level

Pensions get tripled locked, and young people get triple boned.

Zack Polanski@zackpolanski.bsky.social

Labour now briefing young people won't get the same minimum wage uplift. Even Starmer didn't break this pledge. Workers rights mean same rights, pay & conditions, same rate for the same job. What does this Labour government have against young people? inews.co.uk/news/politic...

There should be one (1) minimum wage for 18+ year olds. You can vote, you can serve in government, you can serve on the front lines, you can get married, you can do porn... there is zero justification to pay an 18 year old less than a 22 year old.

Today, I did two silly things. One: I briefly thought there were instances in which it should be "should of" not "should have" Two: I tried to spell layer as layour

In star wars, Han famously says "I know" when Leia says she loves him In Stargate, Jack says "I know" /before/ Carter can say it, so she doesn't have to.

There will need to be an absolute revocation of every pardon trump issues, and every single member of his government prosecuted for corruption and treason.

Trump: I love the meat! Ahhhh! I love it, look! *gestures*

I'm curious what context this is, like... What an insane quote. Problem is it could be anything from him wanting to sink the boats through to wanting to build a third runway at heathrow, and a screenshot of a tweet of a quote from an interview provides none of that context.

Yeah, bad news folks: you know how everything in Britain has been increasingly generous, functional, rational, pleasant and generally awesome for the last twenty years or so? Well I’m afraid the party is over for you greedy pigs: it’s time for you to suck up some real pain. Thanks

To which I, once again, please request that y'all stop going on twitter and screenshotting it just to post here. We left twitter for a reason. if i gave a shit what The Times posted on Twitter... I would be on Twitter.

Microsoft has a market cap of nearly $4tr and yet it also needs to layoff a quarter of its workforce. The global economy is so boned.

Wow people are weirdly antagonised by this - either because "its obvious" or because "its too complex". Its an opinion piece, so in that regard it was successful. 2D drawings of molecules are always, inherently, a flawed simplification. Which model you use depends on what you need

There’s a moment in every chemist’s life when you realise you’ve been told fairytales. Maybe one turning point, maybe a series of small realisations throughout your education. Guillermo Restrepo reflects on one such example: how we draw molecules. #ChemSky www.chemistryworld.com/opinion/stop...

He claims here that other states have a law saying "somebody with the same name can't run." That is false. In no state is that the law, and it would be unconstitutional. You can have rules about how the ballot is disambiguated, you can't say nobody else with a similar name is allowed to run at all.

People thought plastics were safe?

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

For decades, scientists believed that plastics were some of the safest materials around. Now, a new study shows just how flawed that assumption was. A range of studies have found links between microplastic exposure and various health problems.
