Ironically, and I'm sure unbeknownst to him, watching the look in #Pollievre's beady, otherwise soulless little eyes when he gives that concession speech, knowing full well that his career as a politician is over, will be the only thing that could possibly humanize him.

My son doesn't want to go see Slowdive with me in Seattle since we're boycotting the states because of, you know, Trump. Threatening to wreck the economy and ruining the (sorta) peaceful global order was bad, but this one really hurts. #Slowdive please come to Vancouver!

This is my gaming crew, my droogs, my best friends. Mike and I started playing D&D about 40 years ago. Phil joined a year later. Thom about 10 years after that. That's about 150 years of accumulated friendship - and gaming - between the 4 of us. We still play regularly together. #D&D

"If you believe that government should be a meritocracy, then #MarkCarney is the person most fit to be Prime Minister, b/c he is the single most qualified person in the country". That's a pretty good argument.

The 2nd most fun thing is to tease #Australians and #NewZealanders that they sound exactly the same. They hate it. The MOST fun thing is to purposely mistake a #SouthAfrican accent for an Australian one and insist that is what they sound like. They REALLY hate that.

It's hard to not be jealous of other people's successes when you're not having your own. I attended someone else's opening and when I left I felt bad about myself, and that felt like the best I could do, be the crab that's left at the bottom of the tank after another one manages to crawl out.

Paris is Burning reminded me what joyful, socially powerful cinema can be. The definitive account of underground queer culture in the age of reactionary homophobia and AIDS. One of the most life affirming films ever, without which there would be no Queer Eye or Drag Race. A must see film.

Today I seem to need to qualify that nothing I am saying is a euphemism; my dog actually needs stroking or she will drive me crazy, my wife actually made puff pastry and I'm stuffing it with chanterelle mushroom filling etc.

@scaramucci.bsky.social When you worked in WH45 I thought you were a mini-Trump. I've been following you this election and I've really enjoyed your insight and personality. I owe you an apology. I was asked if I would EVER vote for a conservative and I answered 'only if it was Anthony Scaramucci'.

I saw Springsteen play last night, my second time in the last 10 years. It feels like being loved by an incredible 75 year old person with 19999 other people who feel the same way. I've seen a lot of shows but there is no one else like him and I feel sorry for everyone who won't ever get to see him.

Ok, I know that I'll take heat for this, but the opening sequence from Woody Allen's 'Manhattan', the shots of NYC set to Rhapsody in Blue, is about as close to cinematic perfection as it gets.

The DriveBC Highway webcams are my version of doom scrolling or unhealthy disasterbatory fixation. The Paulson Summit cam in particular kinda rules my life. I check it every morning as soon as I finish wordle (duh!). I'm not even driving today but this one looks bad...

You are up to date.
