What if you could do a bunch of lab tests at home anytime with no needles? Ask me about it! I listen to boring, droning, music, and bike a lot to stay happy. I comment on politics and culture to ruin all that.

I think many American patriots are rightly upset that Trump’s “southern Whitehouse” doesn’t have an American name. Why is Mar A Lago Spanish? Is Trump mocking Americans patriots? #SeaToLake

So this time around we can expect Trumps DOJ to use taxpayer dollars to engage in dozens of unfounded unwarranted frivolous election investigations that will drag on for months and Republicans will not certify and Speaker Mike Johnson will not seat while those investigations that are “ongoing”

I think it would be a great measure of success when people from social democracies with paid family leave, universal health care, and very high taxes started moving to the U.S. When they start coming, we're doing something right.

Trump: "Why do we always have to take people from shit house countries? We can't we take people from Norway and Sweden and Denmark? By the way, Denmark gave us Greenland ... what do you take, Venezuela or Greenland? We got them both!"

Candidates ask their Republican challengers how they feel about incredibly unpopular war with Iran and I get it, this is important! But I think they should ask about the ballroom. You could feasibly agree that Iran really is a threat and we had to do something.

You may not care about the ballroom and you might believe there’s no corruption and oligarchs are supporting it out of patriotic kindness, but thing is, NO ONE WAS ASKING FOR A GODDAMN BALLROOM! Ask republicans why they support this lawless wanton destruction, corruption, and distraction.

I don’t agree with that, but it’s a rational position, more or less. You could disagree with starting the war but be opposed to walking away, looking weak, losing. A dangerous, gambler’s fallacy, but more or less rational.

Mountain bikes are too expensive, sure, but they are also amazing. There's no reason for me to be a better rider as the decades pile on, but my bike enables nearly all that improvement!

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

In Colorado, I drop off my ballot at a secure box and then receive emails every step of the way: received, signature checked, counted. Trust inspiring system!! #blucifer

Do we have numbers for how many single-issue anti-trans voters are out there? One idea is to lean-in, explain how no one is trans-ing your kids and we Americans value freedom for people to do what they, themselves want. Be the true party of personal freedom—and just ignore the transphobes.

Laser focused on improving the lives of every American…bringing down prices, winding up the (illegal) Iran war, tariffs, Greenland, so many promises made, promises kept.

Trump: "I'm studying his body. I've never studied the body of a man before. It's not my thing. Nothing wrong with it, of course. But it's never been my thing. But I looked at his ass. I said, 'His ass, shit, it's like a pile of muscle.' Then I looked at his legs and I said, 'Man, his feet are big.'"

Trump wants buy farmer's votes with $8B in handouts. They'll take it, of course, but it may not buy so many votes. The American farmer is frequently that type of Conservative who values individualism, and not one which gives welfare.

Farmers will see the handout and think "shouldn't have done tariffs and wars so that we'd need such a handout in the first place!" Again, they'll take the money, so more deficits, but it's not likely going to be as effective as Trump hopes.

Imma pretend this guy is honest about the straight and not exaggerating. Tell me though, how much cost and risk is there for America now to have to be the Hormuz police and how is that better than it was when we had a nuclear treaty for at least 10 years with inspections?

MeidasTouch@meidastouch.com

Yikes. In a desperate-sounding video, CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper insists the Strait of Hormuz is “controlled by the United States… not Iran” and “open for business,” despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Remember, folks, the president can do anything Congress *lets* him get away with. MAGA will advocate their responsibility and we can fire them for it.

I think the Trump admin is going to argue it's high time we had a "super-intelligence press secretary." (then they're going to stick a TV on the podium with old Max Headroom videos on loop.)

Katie Zacharia is taking time out to study for the bar exam.

Kyle Griffin@kylegriffin1.bsky.social

BREAKING NYT: Trump's new press secretary, Katie Zacharia, was fired Friday, after less than a week on the job, according to three people familiar with the matter.

The only thing this incompetent administration vets for loyalty and devotion to Trump. It would be trivially easy to know she was lying, surely they do and simply didn’t care.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Wow -- Hannity is moving in for the kill: "Why not just say 'I went to Pepperdine Law School and then took a different career path'? Why get into this long drawn-out thing about the difference between a lawyer and an attorney?"

Watched some of the Talarico Town Hall. One questioner: "I'm talking to you Christian..you've said some concerning things...such as God is non-binary..." She clarified "we have to be careful using modern cultural terms when talking about God." Um, why? What the heck is really this issue here?

What is bothering honest Christians about this term? I ask about honest ones because the rest are just freaking out because Talarico used a provocative term which bothers them.

A novel way to address bad faith arguments and I hope to see more of this going forward. If the media won't be the adult in the room, somebody has to.

Message: “Be loyal to me and you can commit any crime without punishment.” (Maybe we need to repeal how pardons can be use? Whaddya think?)

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump is now signing pardons on stage at his rally in Alaska (note that the documents are brought on stage by Natalie!)

Among other questions every democratic candidate should be asking on every debate stage is: ‘do you support sending U.S. tax payer dollars to Putin to buy diesel? Why not Canada? Why not directly to Americans? What are you doing to stop it?’

Why, if we have so much energy independence that folks were considering a diesel export ban, would it change the price of diesel in the U.S. to end sanctions and pay money to Russia for diesel?

But how does spending American tax dollars on Russian diesel really lower prices? Couldn’t we just hand out money to Americans to buy fuel if that’s how we’re going to fund it? Why hand it to Putin?

Sure, this will make U.S. oil oligarchs happy (they keep selling here and abroad at elevated prices, and it makes Putin happy to be paid with American tax dollars while doing nothing to end the reason for the sanctions in the first place.

This is what Trump, this administration, and congressional republicans have brought to the streets of America. This isn’t supposed to be a violent police state. This isn’t how we catch criminals. Unrestrained illegal thugs untrained and unprepared for their jobs.

Watch an ICE agent run down and then run over a man. The man was was then writhing on the ground, saying "You broke my leg! You broke my leg!" Agents didn't help him. And btw, the man wasn't the target of their operation.

Mullen: "No one has to watch it." #DragQueenStoryHour

BRENNAN: Nidal Hasan is in a wheelchair. Doesn't the administration risk livestreaming this and making him a martyr? Couldn't this be a risk to the homeland? MARKWAYNE MULLIN: No one has to watch it B: Well then why are you livestreaming it? MULLIN: The president is restoring American values

MAGA closing argument for November 2026 seems to be 'Darn it, we've failed to most anything we promised, and hey we may have unleashed masked thugs on the streets an allied ourselves with Russia over Canada, but you've got no choice! You don't want communism, do you?'

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

EMMER: $4 gas, $6 diesel -- entirely unacceptable. Republicans agree on that. But it's not enough to vote for communists KARL: There aren't a lot of communists on the ballot

MAGA supporters (what few are left) are likely very excited at all the things Trump is trying to bring fuel prices down. Why are they high in the first place again? (Typical trump: break something, and then say you're the hero when you stop breaking it.)
