And now we've lost the other half of this iconic duo. Paul Prejza, Deborah Sussman's partner in work and life, and a key collaborator on the design team that produced the 1984 Summer Olympics, died on September 21, 2026 at the age of 87

The 1984 Summer Olympics started 40 years ago today. When I interviewed Deborah Sussman about her work on the games, I had no idea it would be the last time I would talk to her before she died. Here's the entire interview, now at home on Torched www.torched.la/an-invasion-...

Since 2016, London’s cycling network has grown fivefold, from 90 to 450 kilometres. The results? 1.5 million daily cycle journeys—a 43% increase since 2019—twice as many bikes as cars on City of London streets during the day, and motor traffic in steady decline—having fallen 25% in the same period.

As an Angeleno, I 100% agree with @pflax1.bsky.social

Sorry for an LA-specific transportation complaint, but the continued paralysis of the LAX People Mover is outrageous and annoying, and while I've read everything about how it's stuck at like 99.5% done, it seems like some entity—a court?—should be able to force this one to be completed.

"The Women’s World Tour is sleepwalking into the same broken economic model that has plagued men’s pro cycling for decades." Joe Laverick and I wrote about what we're seeing at pro bike races around the world. And the opportunity for women's cycling. medium.com/@peterabraha...

I remember this and was in DTLA as it flew over. Amazing.

I was interviewed by CBS News today about the work I’m doing with People for Bikes to improve bike infrastructure in LA. As proven by London and Paris, more bike lanes = safer roads for bikes, pedestrians and even cars. And better air quality for all.

EVERYONE loves track and field 🫶 Zohran Mamdani made it out to Randall’s Island to welcome the fans and cheer on the athletes at the 2026 USATF Outdoor Championships.

Every year I complain about this: Phil Ligget should have retired as a commentator 10 years ago. He can no longer even understand the basics of the race or who's in the lead group. It's sort of an annual joke at this point. Not to mention Peacock promoting a Lance Armstrong pod.

🚔 Paris police authorities have requested that Sunday's Diamond League meet be canceled, citing a historic heat wave that has stretched the city's emergency services to their limits since June 21. 🇫🇷 Current forecasts call for temperatures of 99°F on Friday, 98°F on Saturday, and 89°F on Sunday. 🌡️
