All it needs is a snappy marketing campaign. How about: ‘Travel in comfort from Auckland to Wellington for less than the RUCs on your WankPanzer!’ #nzpol

With Stacey and the team from Auckland Transport, fire at Waitematā Station was very small and is out, they’ve received clearance from FENZ and recovery is in progress. Services will be restored soon. Thanks to Fire and Emergency NZ and all the teams for their swift response.

The third and final CRL station to get its turn for a sneak peek was Te Waihorotiu, in the middle of the city centre. We headed along to what is expected to become New Zealand's busiest station for a look. https://nzrailphotos.co.nz/photos/city-rail-link-first-looks-and-sneak-peeks?view=latest

Kieran McAnulty has just described the entirety of Luxon's Prime Ministerial style in one sentence #nzpol

I loved Kieran McAnulty's analysis: “I think he did it by accident, and then he got flustered, and then he ran away”

You think the Greens having a typo in their tax policy document is bad? I heard Chlöe Swarbrick personally cancelled a half-billion dollar deal to replace our ageing interislander ferries via text message and then we had to pay Hyundai $144 million in contract breaking fees for it oh wait.........

57.7% of NZers, 2.9 million people, can reach public transport within a 10-minute walk. Auckland hits 87.8%. The govt's new fuel subsidy targets 143,000 families. Free fares could reach 20x as many. NZ has the access. What's the argument against?

Simply bringing back half price public transport isn't that hard. But we don't even get that

Dave@dpdiver.bsky.social

I don't understand why the govt hasn't already moved to Phase 2 of the fuel crisis plan. All it involves is encouraging fuel saving, and surely it would have been prudent to start that a couple of weeks ago? Nicola seems desperate to do nothing. #nzpol

When, during Covid, I thought ‘thank heavens Jacinda and Grant are in charge, and not a National led government’, I really wasn’t hoping to find out what the alternative scenario would look like for real. #nzpol

Remarkable watching Govt inch slowly towards understanding magnitude of the fuel situation, so obviously blinded by optimism bias & ideological aversion to intervention... constantly a week or so behind those that have, errm, read the briefings. Some sense of what 2020 would have looked like I guess
