In 2016, we published potentially the largest single feature to ever appear in Game Informer magazine with a full oral history of the legendary studio, BioWare. We've made that feature available online following reports of the studio's impending closure. gameinformer.com/feature/2026...

If this is how you see the world, you are a pathetic, cowardly waste of a soul, undeserving of the vibrance of spring flowers, or the orange purples of clouds set ablaze by a sunset, or the smell of smoke from distant fireplaces carried by a biting autumn gust, or the great taste of Charleston Chew™

Excited to introduce my son to his first retro video game, Oblivion Horse Armor DLC

A definite sign of ageing is that you cannot impress me with "over 20 years" anymore. Am I expected to think this sauce is ancient, because it's as old as Nelly Furtado's Maneater?

Beaches dropped a banger here. I think a lot of us struggle to deprogram the idea that hobbies and projects need to be side hustles. Coincidentally, it was running the Y2K twitter account that helped me. Every time I considered trying something monetarily focused I felt it smothering my passion.

Lately I've been seeing a lot of depressing posts about how people discard their own experiences in favor of efficiency and utility, and for some reason I needed to launch into a disjointed and pedantic rant about why useless is good.

Still being surprised by Control Resonant. Some of the side quests take an approach similar to RPGs such as New Vegas where there are multiple ways to discover and onboard the same quest, starting you with a different piece to a puzzle that might have 3 different pieces in 3 different places.

Having an incredibly fun time with Control Resonant. I was worried that the open world format would spread the themes, tone and distinct identity of Control too thin, but it's constantly surprising me with fun and entertaining shit to stumble upon that feel fittingly unique to this game and premise.

All the side quests seem to have a fun hook: a specific gimmick or a cool paranormal / extradimensional idea that they center around. Many quests give you a binary choice for how to resolve things, which was unexpected but welcome, and they often leave you wondering if you made the best choice.

I'm also surprised by Dylan, who I didn't expect much from as a protagonist, but am growing to love. So far he is meek and empathetic, a refreshing change from the "life as a test subject" trope that usually gives us Angry Rage Revenge Story.

It's Control through and through but to someone unfamiliar with Control I'd probably describe it as "infamous by way of Twin Peaks The Return" Also, I'lll never get tired of happening to open a door to an unmarked and tucked-away spot and seeing the HUD go "Quest Started"

M'aiq the Liar: An angry man once called M’aiq “woke.” Of course M’aiq is woke! M’aiq is not sleeping and does not wish to live in a dream world, afraid of imaginary ghosts. #TheElderScrolls #Oblivion

My daughter told me that she thinks I'm cool "for a millennial" and it's honestly the biggest compliment you can get from a middle schooler

Thief Gold (1998, Gold - 1999) very excited for the remaster for one main reason-- gamepad UI. I've had mounting carpal tunnel issues that have made playing with keyboard+mouse increasingly difficult, but the Steam Deck works very well for me ergonomically. @nightdivestudios.bsky.social when :(

There is a phenomenal game here, made by wildly talented designers and artists and writers who were clearly deeply passionate about what they made, and it's wrapped in the messiest and most bafflingly stupid project direction imaginable.

Coked out business guy: so look, if all the whales are endgame players, just make all the new players endgame players too, and they'll automatically become whales! Also, have at least 17 different currencies. Sony exec: here's $3.6 billion please teach us everything

Every time I'm forced to learn about a popular streamer or youtuber it's the most insufferable, designed by committee -ass white man imaginable. Darksydephil looks like an assistant manager at Aldi. Mr Beast? Yeah my buddy used to sell him weed for $80 a gram in high school, we fucking hated him

Me in 50 years: and then me and Timmy Arbuckle set the homepage of every iMac in school to you're the man now dog dot com. It played a loop, ya see, of Sean Connery saying "you're the man now dog!"
