Patrick O’Meara

I’m looking forward to learning from @marty.friedel.au once more. The prodigal son has returned.

I'll be presenting tonight at @phpxmel.com on Refactoring to Actions. We will look at making your code more focused, testable and reusable by using actions, specifically Loris Leiva's Laravel Actions package. I'll also be paying homage to @adamwathan.com's Refactoring to Collections.

Reminder: PHP × NYC next week! I think we're going to do a little show-and-tell format instead of a talk, RSVP if you think you can make it: phpxnyc.com/meetup/2025-...

Next up we have Allison Guilhem coming back to present: Asynchronously Juggling with Symfony HTTP Client We will explore a little-known tool, the AsyncDecoratorTrait feature of the Symfony HttpClient component. www.meetup.com/php-melbourn...

We are excited to announce that @simonhamp.me will be joining next week via video with Building NativePHP for mobile. A behind-the-scenes dive into the "magic" that allows us to run Laravel apps directly on mobile devices and access native features. www.meetup.com/php-melbourn...

The next @phpmelbourne.com meetup is March 20. If you have a talk idea please submit it via the proposal form. Please share far and wide ❤️ 🐘 www.meetup.com/php-melbourn...

@marcelpociot.bsky.social 👋 Any chance of some MariaDB love in Herd? 🙏

A while ago I refactored our #TypeScript SDK so that the method call matches the @laravelphp.bsky.social route names. It's a much nicer DX, even the request and response data is typed. I'll write this one up into a blog post at some point.

All of my best work is in git stash.

If you're using @laravelphp.bsky.social's `ThrottleRequestsWithRedis`, clearing the attempts can get a little tedious. This is due to the Redis database connection being used instead of the Cache, and the key being md5 hashed. Here is a trait that is particularly helpful in Dusk Tests.

I needed one of my favourite @laravelphp.bsky.social helpers in TypeScript. So simple, but so helpful for cleaning up code.

I've been listed in a Laravel Starter Pack, so I thought I would move some of my coding tweets across to here... turns out most of them are Typescript-related. 😜 I need to up my Laravel posting game.

Comment under a Guardian article… ‘I think we are slowly seeing the rejection of the major parties who are more and more obviously tethered to entities that exist outside of the electorate's interests’ #auspol

Remember to use your secret weapon Aussies.

Just in time for a new feature I'm about to start on ❤️

I second this. Waving 👋 from @phpmelbourne.com to @phpxnyc.com brought a lot of joy. I’m going to wave the heck out of all the other PHP meetups as I come across them. We need to start an organisers podcast, in between organising meetups, and work, dadding, coding, .., fade out.

We have a verified domain handle folks, it's only up from here.

The number one best thing about moving away from Space Karen’s platform is watching @danabra.mov hack on the 🦋 app.
