Process fundamentalists and leftist lawyers stand athwart shouting “stop”. Continuing multi decade tradition.

Congratulations - from someone else just as happily married!

Micah@rincewind.run

fifteen years ago today I married the love of my life two kids and a bunch of life changes later, she's still the best person I know and marrying her is the best decision I ever made I wouldn't be where I am today if I didn't know she had my back on everything, life is so much easier as a team

At a certain point you gotta be willing to just say these are basically crazy people that nothing you can do will make happy, man. Like I’m sorry but if you’re protesting Mamdani over this people should just ignore you.

Chris Sommerfeldt@c-sommerfeldt.bsky.social

Pro-Palestinian protesters gather outside City Hall to call out Mayor Zohran Mamdani for what they see as his betrayal of the movement. "Mayor Mamdani, you can't hide we charge you with genocide" was a chant that just rang out.

Unfortunately, possibly true. Wonder if on election night you’ll see a muted performance in blue states along with wins in places Dems normally aren’t competitive.

ghost malone ergo propter bones@proptermalone.bsky.social

New York specifically is going to flirt with becoming a problem for Dems in future years. this year, should be fine.

If you'll pardon the use of a Bush 2 quote because it actually works this discourse is largely the "soft bigotry of low expectations" because a lot of people genuinely do not believe that Arabs can independently formulate (schizo) geopolitical ideologies, truly believe them, and act on them

We should highlight the funniest excesses. I still maintain Saira Rao starting a consultancy where she has dinner with white lib ladies and yelled at them to be my favorite part of woke 1. Her tweets were also awesome. Generational posting talent.

Cenk’s motto seemingly is once a Republican, always a Republican.

Post-Left Watch@postleftwatch.bsky.social

Cenk Uygur and Glenn Greenwald claim that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is on the "Kyrsten Sinema track." "Come in as a progressive, then realize, oh, money and media decides your power within D.C., shift over to money and media."

Rod Dreher? Possibly providing an extensive irrelevant tangent about his psychosexual issues.

Nathan Goldwag@goldwagnathan.bsky.social

Who will be the first conservative columnist to crash out about this in a 50,000 word screed about how the Left is trying to trick voters and rejecting the essential biological truth of true family in the name of postmodern degeneracy, and will it be in @theatlantic.com?

My observation now that I've been active here for a few months, and as someone with a foot on each site, is that twitter has a vastly greater number of outright scammers, but I feel bsky has a disproportionally higher number of people who seem to genuinely be unwell.

Should also look to how much of it, especially in early controversies, may have been “office politics by other means” in fields with blocked pathways of promotion.

William B. Fuckley@opinionhaver.bsky.social

people getting heated over autopsies of ‘woke 1’ has far less to do with broader theories of justice & a lot more to do with much simpler concerns. It is overall very low stakes if ‘Latinx’ is used, but it’s pretty high stakes for people and organizations that told politicians to use that word

If only there was a sign, like a well documented history of illegal and unethical behavior from his business career. With recurring failures from incompetence.

Douthat was excited by Trumpism, and reluctantly admits it hasn't lived up to his dreams. In fact, it's been "corrupt and bullying and destabilizing." But don't worry! Trump won't make a 1000 year Reich, so all the bad isn't that bad. And it doesn't discredit the right-wing populist vision. 3/x

the Gordian knot of the 'everything is expensive' thing is that some of the main cost drivers are the spiraling cost of healthcare, education, & housing, which are genuinely squeezing the middle class to some extent. guess what two sectors large swathes of them work in, and how they build wealth?

Really wish this was more salient in our discourse. Says a lot that it’s not.

Premiums NATIONALLY are up 58%. Deductibles at a record high. Republicans ended the health care tax credits and now Minnesotans are losing coverage. Minnesotans deserve better, we must restore them.

one thing that I hate about ADHD is that I need to be hyper interested, extremely stressed, etc. to really get into something. no gears beyond locked in or kinda listless. this isn't a quirk chungus so wacky thing, it's a character flaw that makes my life worse.

Won’t predict how this ends, but feel comfortable predicting that executive non compliance is more likely than not as the first step in the next Democratic administration.

Dr. Samantha Hancox-Li@sjshancoxli.liberalcurrents.com

here's my scotustake: you need a plan to both break this court specifically, and also a plan to arrive at a new and functional court system, *and also* to recognize that political contestation never ends but that's no excuse for doing nothing

"This is a basic good government thing California should get better at" and "the conspiracy theories and denialism are bullshit and they'd be saying it all regardless" are both true.

This is what you're missing out on by not being on X. Well, this and thousands of bots sending you threats. On the isolated island of Bluesky, you can merely have informed conversations and organize political resistance. Obviously you should go back to X, where you can't do anything but read this.

Many will current socialists are future libertarians. Mutual aid obsession - recreating Reaganism from first principles - and their glorification of antisocial behavior like fare evasion, yeah. They’d fit right in with the libertarians in NH.

I can see her as a future David Horowitz like figure. But hers being eventual prison followed by former left wing terrorist saw the light, became right wing, and it’s the one true path.

it's kinda wild that calla walsh is just straight up doing terrorism in eastern europe now and nobody seems to care

I do wonder in the next ten years how much of the - well represented here - righteous and purity left will have gone over to the right in one form or another.

OTD in 2003 the USA invaded Iraq. It's good they elected a president determined to end forever wars that start for made up reasons & end up as a quagmire they can't win.

Post Vietnam we got a stab in the back myth, without the antisemitism - it was the protesters fault. Post Iraq it looks like we are going to just get the antisemitism.
