Little Troubles in Spooky Town is free to play in your browser, as a download or on mobile. No silly stuff, just a totally free game. 👻

I feel it's important to share this again. The internet is so hostile toward creators nowadays. I've seen people have their work stolen, and no longer feel comfortable sharing their creations. We can do better. Let's be supportive to the people that make this a better place! 💞

I had to go on Twitter to confirm this was real because Ship Awesome Games In A Weekend having a hand with six fingers was so on the nose I was about to pass out

This shit just writes itself at this point. Just the name "Epic AI MegaJam" is a joke that best describes what is going on with these companies.

The biggest thing I remembered from Powerslave / Exhumed 30 years ago was that it has great music and now I find out that the composer has not made any music for 15 years now. How can he sleep at night?

I decided to replace an e-mail address that was getting lots of spam and had to move all accounts to a different address before deleting the first one. I have now moved 67 out of the 78(!!) accounts and stopped getting spam.

In 2017 Universal wanted to start their cinematic "Dark Universe" with a Mummy movie. During the production I was chosen as background artist for a companion game, developed in just 8 months crunch. The movie wasn't just bad but considered worst movie of the year which destroyed the games sales.

I requested an archive of my twitter account before deleting it and it says it might take more than 24 hours to create the zip file. I then proceeded to hold the page-down button on my profile and had almost the entirety of my posts loaded in less than a minute.

Playing Link's Awakening on the Switch for the first time. Did you know that it was released in 2019 and 2019 is 7 years ago? Although I felt there was a good game at its core, I never enjoyed the original because of the hardware limitations. This is a remake that makes sense to me.

I fear something similar might happen with the Max Payne remakes with the path Remedy is going down lately.

yeah sure whatever, let lara croft cook potato stew on her phone for 2m0s of damage resistance who gives a shit anymore

Going through the trailers of opening night of Gamescom and after the Lofsöng trailer Keighley says that it is "made right here in Europe" as if it was a neighborhood or something. Typical American!

Playing Assassin's Creed Mirage. It is a welcome step back towards an detective action adventure instead of a loot and stats based game but it doesn't go far enough. And the animations are worse than in the first game of the series. Why does Basim not use his arm to not bump into other people???

There are some nice things in the Halo remake and lots of disappointment. The thing that will make me forget about this version after I am through though is the audio mix. Without a composer who has the standing in the company to push for a mix that lets the music breathe the game loses its epicness

Back in 2013 I bought a physical copy of Tomb Raider and it only had a download code for Steam in it. I complained in forums and even back then PC players mostly didn't care. I'd like to know the difference in psychology behind PC players not caring about discs when console players do.

I also played through Rayman Legends and got all 700 teensies. A significant source of joy in my life is gone. I will have to go back and rely on humans and stuff.

The second to last iteration of the new model had a blue shirt. The feedback of Niece was she likes the old model more because there is not enough pink in the new one.

It is a shame they are sandwiched between two waifus with Ingrid looking and sounding like a King of Fighters reject, possibly the worst character in the entire series.

Good news is I finished the main missions of Rayman Legends that I was shamed into playing 10 years after I bought it by the announcement of the remake. It is exceedingly wonderful and fills me with joy. I still have 250 out of 700 Lums to go.

I am trying to get my 10€ out that I put into a Binance account 5 years ago and it has the worst UX of any software I have seen in my life. I had to do a video ID proof that I am who I claim, answer a questionnaire about my finances, click on "Add funds" and the switch direction to withdraw funds.

I am now waiting three days for them to check the "proof" that I am the owner of the account the 0€ withdrawal goes to. I tried to change my bank account before doing the withdrawal but that is not possible. I WILL get my 10€ before I delete my account though. It is a matter of principle.

First proper 3D game I am making on my own. Can't decide whether to do the level editing assembling 3D "tiles" from an asset pack (yellow) or building the stuff in Blender (green)

At every Steam Fest I download around 20 to 30 demos. This time the recommendations offer me 0 games I want to try out. Does anybody have recommendations for action -> adventure games? I don't care about strategy and games that run on numbers.

My favorite thing in the Nintendo presentation is Muramasa. It's a shame there is not a really good trailer of it on the internet. Like with most things in the presentation Nintendo was more concerned with the value proposition of their "editions" than with the worlds you get lost in.

I'm going to keep offering this deal until the end of the month for any #indiedev who needs performance work. So many games on Switch and Steamdeck with low or painfully unstable frame rates.

Simon Roth@simoroth.bsky.social

Actually had someone bite for this. So let's say £360 for a day of low level performance consultation and optimisation, in C++ or Unity, for any indies needing the help.

I like how Microsoft dissolves Arkane Austin and then proceeds to have no less than three games inspired by Dishonored in their not-E3 presentation.
