Using Spring Modulith? There is a new validation that spots the classic Async + Transactional + TransactionalEventListener combination and includes a quick fix that turns it into a single ApplicationModuleListener annotation - less boilerplate, same behavior 🥳 🚀

In today‘s web publishing world it feels like we have given up on the concept of “paragraph“ entirely. That makes me feel that – just like in code – people’s writing lacks cohesion. Every sentence stands for itself. Even one-word ones. Literally.

For most of us working in the 21st century, a data-flow-first architecture is destructive. (I am not a fan of functional programming, but that's another post.) Probably the worst side effect is strong coupling between processing units, which depend heavily on the previous step in the chain. 3/14

It's never a good idea, in my experience, to split an application horizontally—into back-end and front-end subsystems assigned to different teams, for example, or into separate application and platform teams. 1/10

An organization with front-end and back-end teams cannot work from stories, at least not in a way that's cost (and time) effective. 6/6

There are no "front end" or "back end" stories, for example, because you don't have value without both front and back ends. This thinking, of course, impacts everything from architecture to team structure. 5/6

Let’s say I‘d need non-GitHub repository hosting that I’d ideally would choose Codeberg for, but can’t due to policy reasons (repo growing too large due to amount of binaries I need to host). Where would I go?

I‘ve heard someone using the term “pretendgineer” today, and I think I’m gonna use this for all the vibe coders from now on. 🙂 #ai
