Happy International day of Transgender Visibility! All my homies say Trans Rights are Human Rights / anyone who's cool knows it too. We see you out there. Choose to be yourself and know that we have your back. Much love and respect today (and every day)! 🏳️‍⚧️ #transrights #transdayofvisibility

It's Trans Day of Visibility and we want to say how much we appreciate the trans people in our cast and crew who, in the midst of a cultural siege, loaned us their talents. Trans people have always been part of shaping our arts and culture, and we will always uplift and include them in our stories.

There is no human future in cruelty. To every transgender person in the world: we see you. You deserve to be remembered at your very best, unburdened by hatred, and free in every way that matters. From now until that day, and beyond, we are right beside you.

Minneapolis is headed towards something resembling a general strike, if you were wondering how the campaign to cow working people into quiescence is going

Sarah Lazare@sarahlazare.bsky.social

Last night, The Minneapolis Federation of Educators Local 59 signed on to the call for a Jan 23 shutdown. That brings total labor support to: the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1005, SEIU Local 26, UNITE HERE Local 17, CWA Local 7250, St. Paul Federation of Educators Local 28, and the MFE 59

if you haven't read jezebel's 2018 coverage of the listserv where 400+ "left-of-center" transphobic "journalists" methodically orchestrated the current moment, it's a good companion to the TNN interview: www.jezebel.com/private-mess...

In this in-depth interview Billie Jean Sweeney — a former editor at The New York Times — details how the paper shifted towards openly promoting anti-trans hatred, why this was directed from the very top, how some staff pushed back and the immense damage done by the NYT legitimizing bigotry.

Sorry for the Radio Silence folks, but we have been utterly macerated by the Flu. Get your shots, drink your fluids, take a nap. We’ll be back, but we’ll be late.

While I'm both thinking about this and recommending podcasts, let me tell yoh that @observableradio.com is really good too

Saz🌈@rainbowplethora.bsky.social

I consume most of my horror in audio format these days and one thing anthology podcasts have brought home to me is that the horror I'm most affected by is always body snatcher type stuff. I refuse to examine why that is.

Hey folks, for a series of boring logistical reasons, we need to start numbering our Interim Season (short stories by one reader) as "Season Two" in your pod catchers. Our next full anthology series will begin as "Season Three". But it's just numbers and signifiers. It holds no inherent meaning.

I have been informed that there’s another important holiday in October, so please feel free to listen to our latest episode as a Halloween episode as well.

October 28, 1962. The whole world watches with bated breath. But they're looking in the wrong direction. Supplemental Frequency 11: "The Crisis" is on every radio and TV. Just listen. SPOTIFY: open.spotify.com/episode/49vR... APPLE: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/s... TRANSCRIPT

If you listened to this story last night, you listened to it on exactly the date and time it took place in 1962. This means something. For the rest of you, there’s still time to enjoy @purpurinastitch.bsky.social reading a cozy small town tale of alternate history and philosophical disagreements.

If you’re interested in more on the same theme, this story originally appeared in the anthology “shadows of Main Street,” from the folks who would found @badhandbooks.bsky.social, with an absolute rogue’s gallery of other contributors.

We have a new Halloween adjacent story for the beginning of the season! Liam Gregory of @centromikascifi.bsky.social has made you from blueberry pancakes, for this special meal.

When I first started this story it was absolutely about a Capgras delusion, but I think it’s so much more interesting as an open-ended folk horror/suburban fairy tale. Plus, fucked up deer.

We literally have an @observableradio.com episode about why this sucks Like I know we keep posting this about various news stories but 1) the power of anthologies I guess, we cover a lot of ground 2) STOP MAKING THE TORMENT NEXUS YOU GUYS

Can I just say that as a new listener, @observableradio.com ‘s ‘Large Models’ episode is way too kriffing relevant? Which is why it was the most disturbing episode.

I feel like we could put a stop to all the damage Elon Musk is doing personally if just one of us, anyone, was willing to go round to his for a pizza and movie night, maybe play some Pokemon with him. The price is too high. www.rollingstone.com/culture/cult...
