According to the truism, power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. So…what about an insane president who believes he has absolute power. Sounds like a set up for absolute corruption to me.

So… we are at war with Iran. Russia is allied with Iran. This administration gives “comfort and aid” to Russia, lifting of sanctions, purchasing diesel, and cutting off communications, and who knows what else. I’m no lawyer but this sounds like treason to me.

Trump is outliving his usefulness to his handlers. He is demented but they are not. The meetings with election deniers, Vought has a surprise, harassment of Omar, these are opening moves. If his handlers want to take over, they must do it now, before his cult slips away. Dangerous times.

Mark Jacobs is correct. This is not a time for squishy language that obscures the awfulness of what is being done to our democracy. We don’t describe a school shooting as intruder disrupting the school day. It’s recognized as the horrific event that it is.

We need an international agency providing independent oversight of AI. We came to understand the awful destructive power of nuclear bombs during WWII and later witnessed the health effects of radiation exposure. The world acted. Because many do not understand the potential damage of AI, we dawdle.

Obama calls this perfectly. He's highlighting the failure of the congressional Democratic leadership, though. "Obama implored Democratic leaders to move AI oversight to the center of the party's agenda, warning during a private fundraiser this past week that the technology could be “dangerous”.
