It was definitely a swing by the way they currently call that rule and also they definitely should change the rule to give batters a lot more leeway

if i had a nickel every time they made a movie about the Cleveland Browns draft war room, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird it's happened twice

"Set within the world of the Cleveland Browns, Christopher Meloni, Mandy Moore, Chace Crawford and William H. Macy bring you the drama of the NFL like you’ve never seen it before." www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xnU...

You have Raisel Iglesias, a 2 run lead, your reliever has thrown three innings already, and a day off tomorrow. Just put in your closer!

Thought the ump in the first game was bad but this guy behind home plate in Dodgers-Braves is getting crushed by challenges lol

how much money would the studio/theatre have to pay you to watch a johnny depp christmas carol movie? i'm thinking i wouldn't go in the door for less than a hundred bucks

i know we've been making jokes about it for two years at this point but it's worth saying again: Bryce Harper really looks like shit these days.

not to engage in Discourse but i've been in hundreds of interviews on both sides of the table and have never, not even one single time, even considered what someone brought it to drink with them

if you came in with like, an Icee or a Bud Light or something, maybe i'd raise an eyebrow, but anything normal (water, coffee, can of Diet Coke, etc) and i definitely would not care even a little bit

Off the top of my head, I was at ACL four days after Tom Petty died and The Revivalists opened their set with a cover of Refugee that almost brought me to tears

The Ken In Yellow@kenlowery.bsky.social

Favorite cover you saw live? Top of mind for me is FIDLAR *opening* their show with a ribcage-rattling cover of Beastie Boys's "Sabotage." Talk about One Weird Trick to make a crowd high-energy from the jump Recently: NIN covering "I'm Afraid of Americans"

It's pretty funny that the judiciary as a whole is begging the NCAA to just admit these are employees and (relatedly) to allow collective bargaining and the NCAA will simply never do that

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Louisiana judge rules against NCAA in eligibility case, clearing the way for LSU to add ex-NFL players to its roster.

my "there has been no fraud" statement is raising a lot of questions already addressed by my statement.

Mark Walter's firm put out a statement about investigations into his firms. TWG says it's "not looking to sell its sports assets at 'fire sale' prices to raise capital for its insurance operations" and "there has been no fraud." TWG says Walter won't sell Dodgers www.businesswire.com/news/home/20...

1) this is very good 2) you will be shocked how quickly someone in the comments outs themselves as being a complete maniac on the road. Even in the Defector comments, people can't help themselves on this topic.

Felix Kent@felixkent.bsky.social

Defector gave me the chance to write about something deeply personal and meaningful to me, namely my belief that right on red is destroying our morals: defector.com/every-right-...

Literally the fourth comment on this post for me is someone saying "I treat most stop signs as optional" which is a completely psychopathic way to act in a vehicle. I am always stunned how openly people admit to driving like a dangerous asshole as a matter of course

One thing that's very funny is sometimes I will type up especially long or important emails in Docs first and then paste into a new draft and the Gmail AI grammar suggestions are completely different than the Docs AI grammar suggestions

Google Docs' grammar suggestions suck ass: aftermath.site/google-docs-gr...

Giants have figured out NBA-style tanking (don't play prospects who might accidentally be good, just give the twelfth-best player on your AAA team as many ABs as possible)

🤖 Susan Slusser Giants say Jonah Cox is off the IL and optioned to Sacramento. They’ve selected IF/OF Eddys Leonard from Sacramento to fill the open roster spot.
