One more reason I am working on something that explores ideas in ai generated content for pragmatic devs

Gergely Orosz@gergely.pragmaticengineer.com

This can happen with any AI agent… or human developer! A BIG difference w AI agents: they will write more code, faster than before, and ship a LOT more code to prod! So ship more bugs as well. Software engineers (not AI engineers) will build o11y solutions to solve for this!

Maybe it’s a me thing - but the more I see AI based tools for creative content generation (e.g doodling) the more I want to start a channel where I just livestream myself doing sketchnote comics while listening to reggaeton on my headphones! I hope there’s always room for the edge cases 😁❀️

63 studies! Begs the question- when do we stop studying and apply lessons learned? SMH

Adam Grant@adamgrant.bsky.social

63 studies: women who assert their ideas, make direct requests, and advocate for themselves are liked less. They're also less likely to get hiredβ€”and it hasn't improved over time. When will we stop punishing women for violating outdated gender stereotypes?

Nitya Narasimhan, PhD πŸ—½ reposted

The best way to improve your writing is not always to write more. It's often to reread more. Instead of just enjoying the content, study the form. Pay attention to how your favorite authors set up ideas, structure paragraphs, and shape sentences. Role models elevate art.

As an illustrator myself this large visual story was the perfect welcome to the Toronto Metro Convention center where the #MSAITour kicks off today! Join us for a packed day of labs, talks, hub demos and discussion- all kicking off with a keynote this morning! Fine me for 2X lab sessions 12-3:30pm

And last but not least the folks who showed up for both my workshop sessions and stayed up to the very end - you are why I do this! Thanks for the questions, the conversation and the community ❀️ Happy #MicrosoftAITour day!

The hub was still open - two booths that I found useful to visit. Are you an entrepreneur? Check out the Microsoft For Startups booth, ask about Founders Hub! Are you a learner- talk to Erik at the Microsoft Learn booth to learn about resources & certifications

Got a chance to check out the β€˜Make a postcard with Trustworthy AI’ booth before the crowds file in. A great use of AI to create an image of you based on your personalized prompt with Microsoft Designer. Let me say that it did a good enough job that you will recognize me by the outfit at least 😁

Also had a chance to explore the Hub area and hope to help out more later! These 4 topics are top of mind for AI engineers so stop by and talk to the experts there: Azure AI Foundry Azure AI Content Safety Azure AI Agent Service Azure Open AI Service #MSAITour

Listening to Alysa Taylor set the stage for keynote by identifying the three major shifts that moved the industry before- mobile, internet and cloud And now the shift to AI with the Copilot ecosystem as your AI powered companion Copilot = UI for AI Human + Copilot + Agents Me + AI + Automation

Also finding myself dealing with the paradox of wanting to restore that feeling of connectedness on this network - while also dealing with the inner voice that says β€˜how do we know this time will last?’ I am excited though - gives us a chance to rediscover the long tail of past networks

I can’t say I really like the idea of rebuilding my entire Twitter audience, but I do love the idea of musk learning the hard way most people will not eat a shit sandwich as long as Tesla owners.

Also good morning Toronto!! Here for the Microsoft AI Tour where I will be delivering two lab sessions on building RAG based copilots code-first on Azure AI Foundry. It’s an advanced lab that has evolved over nearly a year with thousands of devs skilled. The best part? Conversations with community!

If you are interested in Microsoft technology this is a good resource to discover relevant people here on BlueSky πŸ‘‡πŸΌπŸ‘‡πŸΌπŸ‘‡πŸΌ

πŸ¦‹ Introducing bluesky.ms πŸ‘ = A crowdsourced database of anyone and everyone in the Microsoft community on Bluesky. πŸ‘‰ Add yourself and anyone you know today πŸ‘ˆ πŸ«‚ All are welcome. Want to catch up on #MSIgnite? The Book of News is the way to go! But if you’re like me, the large text document is overwhelming. I like to see the big picture - it starts with a mark map. Learn more: πŸ‘‡πŸΌπŸ‘‡πŸΌ www.linkedin.com/posts/nityan...

I first moved to Chicago over two decades ago - and one of the images that remains in my mind to this day is the sculptures that dot the downtown area - there’s a Picasso somewhere but Alexander Calder’s Flamingo will forever be my favorite! It’s grace forged with a steely backbone! Had to stop by!

Okay this is the day before the #MSIgnite conference and the registration line is already wrapping around a few times! Forgot what conferences of this size feel like #CommunityRocks I’m excited now - wishing we had more time to show more cool things ❀️

Get you a hotel where you call to see if they have coffee for a late night sprint - and they deliver a Nespresso machine to your room with enough pods & creamers to power you through a couple of hours. ❀️ Sure I’ll regret it in the morning but it was good coffee

Hey Skytalkers!! I’m headed to Chicago for #MSIgnite and hope I get to see some of you in person Also they say you should start as you mean to go on - I work in AI but I find joy in creative things! Been using Procreate for years to illustrate in 2D but this year I want to learn animation- #001 ftw

Reminded today it took women 100+ years to win the right to vote (on Aug 18, 1920). Something current generations (including mine) just view as the norm. The takeaway is - things won't always go your way but for the things that matter, keep focus on long-term goals. Also 18-19-20. Numerology 😍

Hello skyverse! Hope to rediscover community here. I talk about AI, App Dev, Art & πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ life. TIL: There is a Lists feature active on Bluesky πŸ’ͺπŸ½πŸŽ‰ this is something that will really help in organizing information discovery when onboarding

maureen@maureenbug.bsky.social

I started to put together a list of content scraper accounts I've found. I recommend you actually block them tho (not just subscribe to the mute list). If you know of others, let me know!

Okay .. the UI/UX shows Lists are created primarily to enable 'Muting' of listed people by anyone subscribing to it (simplifying community-level moderation with some privacy preservation) I was hoping to also get thr list-as-tweetdeck-column usage where I can contextualize follows & conversations

Nitya Narasimhan, PhD πŸ—½ reposted

Replying to @pfrazee.com

the logic around the shared block list is that some user or org or etc can create a layer of indirection and maintain these lists, almost like an adblocking filter-list service does multiple people then subscribe to these shared lists, making them a preference of the community, not just one person

This thread was super useful to understand under the hood workings of Bluesky and early thought on some features

P(aul) Frazee@pfrazee.com

every user in atproto has a signed data repository, which is quite similar to a git repository. changes get written in commits and each repository maintains a history (commit log) we do that because the network is largely pull-based, and maintaining the history makes catchup sync efficient

Happy Mothers Day to all who celebrate. With thanks for those who influences, and our North stars. With compassion for those who lost loved ones. And with πŸ’― support for the right of every person to choose for themselves if they want to have kids (or not), at any time, with no societal pressure. πŸ’ͺ🏽

Nitya Narasimhan, PhD πŸ—½ reposted

as people have pointed out in replies, block party does this! i built the feature bc it made no sense that i had to suffer through seeing abuse when people actively wanted to helped me. a few additional thoughts on implementing delegated moderation: (cont’d)

Just hopped on to share this moment of Zen with you all on this sunny Saturday .. check out the playground first. Why this matters: I think creativity will be the difference in a world where AI can automate the mundane. And the open web platform will empower creators 😍 https://string.spiel.com/

string.spiel.comstring simulatorThis is an interactive string simulator that uses basic Fourier math to generate audio & visuals according to where on the string you pluck from. The audio math is done on the GPU in WebGL

Tech is a pendulum driven by cost, convenience and comfort. We move forward if innovate reduces cost or adds convenience.. we move back to familiar ground when things get too complex. At some point we stabilize in the middle.
