Alex Jeffrey Pretti was an ICU nurse at a VA hospital. His life, through his profession, was dedicated to serving his community and our country. As so many have now seen on video, his final act before he was killed by federal agents was doing everything in his power to protect his community.

My thoughts are with Alex Pretti's family and loved ones. He was an ICU nurse, performing technically and emotionally demanding work caring for critically ill veterans. Colleagues and former patients describe a person who was kind, funny, and deeply caring.

SCOTUS is wrong. Last year, I voted against the TikTok ban because I feared Congress getting into the business of shutting down media platforms in violation of the 1st Amendment. If implemented, this ban would impact 170 million Americans who use TikTok for news & entertainment.
