I’ve posted it before, but it feels evergreen The two hardest problems in Computer Science are 1. Human communication 2. Getting people in tech to believe that human communication is important

I think we need an inverse thread where we talk about things that normal intelligent people universally agree upon that are for some reason hot takes within your profession

Try going days without water. That’s what people in Tunbridge Wells have had to do.   Families, care homes and schools are in limbo while South East Water still can’t say when this will be fixed. Thank you Mike Martin for stepping up and holding those responsible to account.

Using AI to write your tests requires your software to be both complete and correct. These are dangerous assumptions to make. Go test first and let the genie help you make them pass.

If you have a secret or hidden phone, the government's Emergency Alerts could reveal your device, even if it's on silent or do not disturb. The government is testing emergency alerts on Sunday 7 September. If you're worried this could reveal a phone, you can follow this guide to turn off the alerts

Just an unbelievable week. Hoping that Europe and the UK can step up and lead the free world as the US has (hopefully temporarily) decided to tread a different path.

I’ve got some serious catching up to do with #adventofcode. Busy with family and Christmas preparation stuff. I must collect more stars over the weekend! Learning a lot with Python though, definitely helps increasing language skill. Grateful it exists.

Reaching out to other #blazor users. I’m struggling with forming a mental model around auth works in conjunction with the different modes, esp. with deep linking. For example, if I have a mixture of SSR, Interactive Server and Wasm with [Authorize] on various components (routed and otherwise). 1/2

How does authentication work in that context. Assume MEID. Do I need to support both a confidential and public client? How does successful auth in one context translate to the other context? From Server to WASM and back over api calls (hosted)? I am not finding much in the documentation to cover.

I had a wonderful time for Dragon Age the Veilguard. The game runs great, is fun to play, looks amazing, and I enjoyed the story. My companions lacking a health pool led to some attrition-based boss encounters (always bring a healer), but by and large it’s a great game that I happily recommend 8/10.

Updated some blazor wasm to .net 9, and took advantage of the new static file handling. Only odd thing I had was needing to add a new h1 { outline: none; } style. All deployed to container apps via pulumi and tested via playwright. Great stuff.

Got all my jobs done yesterday so I am dedicating today to Silent Hill 2 Remake whilst being a pillow for our dog. Hope everybody has similarly amazing Sundays.

Loved today’s Azerbaijan GP. Amazing result for Nando to finish ahead of Max. Masterclass performance from Piastri. McLaren leading the Constructors. Looking forward to Singapore! #F1 #TeamPapaya

Decided to pick up Star Wars Outlaws and I have to say, I’m really enjoying it. Is it perfect? No way near. But it does things I enjoy. There is jank and there are moments where the stealth feels too hard, but Nix is adorable :)

Deciding to abandon the other place and hoping to connect with fellow #dotnet devs. I also have an interest in Rust, React, Angular, Python, Java, and Go. Outside of tech I love F1, sim racing, metal, and Lego!

You are up to date.
