Forgot to lock my oven last night and my cat turned it on while we were sleeping. I swear one of these days he’s going to burn the house down.

Today I have spent more time in meetings than I slept last night and I wish to walk into the ocean.

I restarted Silksong after getting through a good 2/3 of the game then not playing for probably six months. It feels good to see that the muscle memory I built up has not gone away. I am ripping through bosses in my new save am getting decently close to the Citadel.

Such a job would end me completely.

The Right talks a lot about fiscal responsibility and efficiency, but for decades, that’s been code for something else: cutting essential programs and services.

This is going to be a must play. I mean look at that classic 80s & 90s anime aesthetic.

when designing a distributed system, keep removing shared mutable state until it doesn’t work anymore, then put a little back and draw a box around it labeled “this will break first”

shared mutable state remains the hardest thing to reason about

WOW. New announcement from Seattle CMs Strauss, Hollingsworth, and Foster saying they will fund universal school meals starting in the fall after all by using the general fund. Hard to see this as anything but a realization of the high political price they paid for their votes yesterday.

Caught the cold going around my office and am now lying in bed watching Baccano!, haven’t seen this in years and I’ve forgotten how good it is.
