the redemption arc of indiana jones 1935: “Fortune and glory, kid” 1936: “These are good pieces, Marcus!” 1938: “It belongs in a museum!”

i bet everyone who banged on about macOS becoming more like iOS didn’t have iPadOS becoming more like macOS on their bingo cards

the series finale of the handmaid’s tale is staggeringly good. it’s an earned ending and doesn’t short change, but it’s not really over since we have the testaments coming in the next year or two. not gonna lie, had tears in my eyes a couple of times. nolite te bastardes carborundorum.

someone needs to explain to me why the new series of Doctor Who is "season 2" and why it is not season 15, and especially why it is not series 41. longest running sci-fi tv show my arse.

"tip: yank the HDMI cable out the back before you leave so it won’t turn your TV on" hey @mackeza.bsky.social you can disable HDMI-CEC in [Settings] > [System] > [Display] > [Enable HDMI Display Link], Off! a weird device, i wonder when it'll be jailbroken so it can run steam link or moonlight

theguardian.comThe Nintendo Switch revolutionised on-the-go gaming – can the PlayStation Portal do the same? The PlayStation Portal offers a new way to play PS5 games at home or on the go. But it struggles to match the seamless gaming experience I yearn for

i haven't watched Section 31 yet but i've heard it's a bit meh for trekkies. may i suggest the following for future development:

STAR TREK: REVISITED STAR TREK: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO STAR TREK: HOW I MET YOUR CAPTAIN STAR TREK: THIS TIME IT'S PERSONAL STAR TREK AND SON THE NEW STAR TREK ADVENTURES STAR TREK SCIENCE THEATRE 2283 STAR TREK: NEW BLOOD JEAN LUC PICARD'S FLYING CIRCUS STAR TREK: GRUDGE

people *do* watch the same things and talk about them, just not at exactly the same time. in the '00s and the late '90s, we loved big tv shows online, but airings were balkanised. it took 7 months for friends to appear in the uk. now content drops are global and (almost) immediate. insular, my arse.

as dutifully employed by maga hat wearers, brexiteers, conspiracy theorists, anti-vaxxers, rangers supporters … funny that.

The meme I didn't know I needed

a lovely ode to one of my favourite movies, and props to @lukebuckmaster.bsky.social for not falling into the weird trap of calling it by its poster tagline (Live. Die. Repeat.) i know it was liman’s first choice, but seeing it called that on some streamers is plain weird.

not too happy though about the fact that the .bsky.social part of people's handles counts towards your character limit

I think there's a big difference between what people think of when they hear about Bluesky blocking, and what it actually means in practice for most of us. So I made a diagram.

You are up to date.
