Maybe controversial opinion but Season 2 of The Wire is better than Season 3, except maybe the last two episodes.

Added persistent playback time to WebToSpeech. Now saves how far you were into a recording across devices, so if you need to go from your laptop to your phone, we gotchu.

The trend continues, Trump is a cancer to any candidate in the world. Anyone he supports, they lose. Now I hope the U.S. will learn from their international counterparts.

I believe there’s an online movement by oligarchs in the U.S. to paint the french protests as extremely violent to avoid U.S. citizens thinking too much about their cost of living issues at home coming into the midterms.

Ah Rust. Vibe-slopping a Xcode alternative in GPUI-RS and all the worktrees have taken up 350gb of storage on my machine.

Not me sneaking a peek at my agents work as my girlfriend walks off, like I’m checking texts from another girl.

Each key only works < 90% of the time. Jks, this is very cool.

Thought TinyCast was being buggy, turns out ChatGPT app turned on it's shitty mini thing and auto assigned it to opt + space, which... is the default keybinding for both raycast and tinycast.

Something about the spacing here looks INCREDIBLY messy. Like the spacing between the post actions and the date… it’s just… off

Had a really successful month with stocks, so helped myself to a coffee grinder and an aeropress, can’t wait to get back to making great coffee (been living off preground supermarket beans)

I’ve had the webtospeech.app domain for years, maybe half a decade now. Today I’ve re-launched a service on it, which uses Gemini 3.8 Flash’s tts model. It pulls the main content from a webpage, and converts it into your own little audiobook.

Originally, I was using the neural tts services from Azure, AWS and Google, which were good enough for me, but weren’t worth offering as a service. When LLM’s appeared, long context TTS offering quality dropped through the floor, and the neural services stopped even getting a look in.

Gemini 3.8 Flash is the first llm based tts offering that I’ve felt confident enough in to re-ignite this. It’s not open for registration yet, but I’m thinking it’ll be a 5$ one time license to use with BYOK, and a 15$ a month subscription to use my gemini key.

I've played with TTS a lot, both neural and llm based, and LLM's are just far too indeterminate for them to work well. If you go too long, the output degrades, if you instantiate a new request too often (like per paragraph), the voice changes too often. Neural sounded worse, but it was consistent.

Gemini TTS 3.8 Flash seems a lot better than the OpenAI models at this btw... just testing it out now.

The new “Siri search” on ios gets blocked by the battery low live notification lmao. Assuming it gets blocked by all sorts of live notifications
