Democrats really be getting away with the "what's the point of trying" answer. Healthcare, minimum wage, tax the rich, gun control, campaign finance. Like...their message is: We won't win.

Personally, I think comedians should just be laughed at in the wrong way. I think there is something counterproductive about assigning power to them. Even Rogan, who should be happy to be called a comedian. But for others, I think they want to be thought of as having some influence on culture.

I know myself well enough to know I should never advise a campaign. So if you ever see me say, "so-and-so should say or do this," know that I 100% believe they should say or do that. That doesn't mean I think it would help them win.

If you're wondering if your politician is "for the people," here's a quick test: Are they for homeless people? Are they for trans people? Are they for people that came from other countries? Are they for people with criminal records? Oh, you actually only cared if they were for you and yours.

The first time I heard "Not A Player" I thought he was saying he isn't promiscuous because he is a "player" but because has crushes on a lot of women, and I thought it was kind of sweet. When I found out he was just using "crush" to mean "fuck" I was very disappointed in Big Pun.

None of the motivations make sense. You want Hal to leave to protect your son. Then when he has no reason to stay, you give him one. But when Hal wants to protect your son, no talking, you just kill him. So you invite John because you're unsure if he should even be protected in the first place?

If I'm being honest, the show makes me feel stupid. I don't get the romance. I don't understand any character's motivations. Like maybe it's there and too subtle and I'm not getting it so I lash out, idk. Did John not dry snitch on the manhunter at the end with that search your hearts shit?

You know, qualified immunity is horrendous enough but in the context of a country where 1 in every 4 doctors will be sued at some point in their careers, it makes you realize this country is the single most infuriating fucking joke.

There is a desire to be antagonistic on the internet that really makes me sad. Cause it could be the silliest place on the web and someone will just try to start some shit. And it just makes me think of this default posture of competing where everyone is trying to one-up or beat down someone else.

bigotries come in three-packs at least. This never fails and the new friends you make will be happy to show you how

Hear me out. Ethical AI art, if it exists, is when the art is in what AI is told to do, not in what the AI does. Ok, yes, I just can't help but enjoy the "Breaking Bad but Walt doesn't make much money" edits.

It's not that Ed Sheeran isn't a bad person. It's that he's not exceptionally bad. The banality of evil is just that. He just doesn't want to be bothered by the annoying truths of the world around him and unfortunately that's not just true for millionaires but most people living in relative comfort.

Found myself kinda-sorta, not really, but in a way defending Ed Sheeran at work today. Someone that regularly votes Republican because their dad tells them to and they don't like thinking about politics brought up Ed Sheeran and idk, maybe I'm wrong but to me it's the same sickness.

He claims if he had millions of dollars he wouldn't make the same choice. But refusing to educate yourself before voting is the same choice. He's not working multiple jobs. He's not particularly dumb. He is also unwilling to sacrifice even a little bit. He's also unwilling to challenge his daddy.

And I said a lot of this to him and it wasn't the first time though I get flustered talking to him about politics anyways. He brought up Ed Sheeran to me hoping to bond with me over derision of Ed as he thinks me to be "political." But he just felt challenged and refused to see any of it.

Yes, Ed Sheeran is a millionaire and has more power but power analysis does not necessarily remove accountability from the powerless. I think it's good that Macklemore through Ed Sheeran advocated for justice for Palestinians. And it's good it breaks through to apolitical people like this 30-smtg.

But if the only thing that's breaking through is that it's en vogue to shit on Ed Sheeran and not the continued genocide of Palestinians, it's...less good? Still good I guess. But also, this guy doesn't recognize that what makes Ed Sheeran deplorable also makes him deplorable, but smaller.

Idk, if my almost grown child couldn't read, it'd be a personal failure entirely. If I called myself a writer...that's neglect on the level of child abuse no matter what school they went to.

I heard somewhere that the heart symbol, ❤︎, was modeled after a lady's butt bent over. I was going to share this info so I looked it up first. It's not true. Sometimes, it's better to just believe.

being in a relationship is cool but you ever nibble a small hole into the pepperoncini and dip it back in the jar to fill with pepperoncini juice so that it explodes in your mouth like a pepperoncini gusher?

Class politics vs identity politics is a counterintelligence program. When the labor unions were strongest, it's because people were proud to identify as working class. And that wasn't accidental. There were movies, TV shows, MUSIC, that emphasized the virtue of working class.
