Hi! I'm Myoukochou, a VTuber aunt from the UK in her mid-forties. 🦋 I make music, play a bunch of games, and it's lovely to meet you Bluesky! 💜

Altstream - the indie streaming site I’ve been using since it started a couple months ago - no ads, absolutely no AI bull, low latency, and no cut from your earnings - now has a Bluesky account. It’s smol rn, but already has a lovely community and chat! #streaming #vtuber bsky.app/profile/alts...

(If you joined because of this post, feel free to put Myoukochou as your referral. But you really don’t have to. I only *have* two emotes at the moment. I really should get on to fixing that!)

So, like, I’m on the team now. (There’s three of us, Ashe, Mara and me.)

Over 500 users later. 😅

Over 1500 users and a new server later. Crumbs, that was fast. It's still lovely, though.

By “smol” I mean @altstream.online is in alpha testing - you still have a shot to be one of the first 100 users! And yes, stream keys and stuff all work. My friend @letsgoashe.com made it. I just think it’s neat :)

The cynic may go: how could it run; don’t Amazon and other video streaming service charge a ton for their video? Easy. It’s 2026, not 2007! Expensive third party streaming services? Don’t need ‘em. Login? A Discord account you already have. gg ez ✨💜 My profile, btw: altstream.online/myoukochou t

If you’re reading this post, you missed it - I wasn’t kidding by brief, my pizza was in the oven! If you’re unfamiliar (and you probably are) - Altstream is a tiny little cool independent streaming site. Very low latency streaming, smol but great community, and guaranteed no AI nonsense.

I shall be at the Mass Lobby at Parliament today. 🏳️‍⚧️💜✨

I've been trying a couple of streaming platform alternatives today — Twitch letting Amazon use my content to train genAI without my permission is *utterly* abhorrent to me as a creator. stream.place seemed interesting but quiet. I might actually go for a friend's smaller, more fun, boutique site.

… or both. Both might be an option.

17 Aug

Both does seem to work, but I might want to aggregate chat somehow, the multistreaming is a bit clumsy.

I've been on Twitch for 5½ years now, and it's fun, and of course I opted out, but the absolute disrespect, and the fact a friend can literally make a better site than Twitch in a cave with a box of scraps, made me wonder what the heck I'm giving them a 50% cut for.

13 Aug

Definitely, DEFINITELY turn this off everyone on #Twitch.

🚨We have written to all MP's expressing our anger at the government. Our rights WILL be restored. Our voices WILL be heard. We will continue to fight 🏳️‍⚧️✊

From today, thanks to the EHRC, and Labour Equalities Minister and new party chair Bridget Phillipson MP: the UK has the dubious honour of having the only bathroom ban in Western Europe. Segregationist, undignified, disrespectful, ridiculous, weird, confusingly passive-aggressive. We won’t comply.

Things have been pretty dark lately. Especially today, for reasons I won't get into here. Can feel like the abyss is watching you, trying to swallow you up. But you can fight it — exist, persist, resist. New EP, Within The Abyss, out now, on all platforms. alyssarowan.bandcamp.com/album/within...

In case you’re wondering why the music post, and the timing of the release.

🚨🚨Today the EHRC Code of Practice goes live. Our voices have been ignored. We will not stand for this. We will not stop until our rights are restored. The CoP does not change the law. Inclusion can happen. The vast majority of the public do not want this. WE WILL CONTINUE TO FIGHT 🏳️‍⚧️✊♥️

23 July

I have a remarkably busy weekend ahead of me. (No specifics.) Fun, I think, but it’ll definitely keep me on my toes! I might to be able to stream on Sunday, maybe, I think, but I’m not sure right now. Like last week, no VOD if I do.

Getting ready to attend London Trans+ Pride today! 🏳️‍⚧️

25 July

My feet hurt. Marching with 150,000 people will do that. Incredible. I probably need to rest my voice a bit, so I won’t stream tomorrow, lol.

Okay, *one* specific — I’ll be at London Trans+ Pride on Saturday! (That hardly narrows it down, I expect a lot of people will be there!)

22 July

Thanks to those who came to my creative stream on Sunday. (No, there’s no VOD.) I’ve been working very hard, and when taking a break leaves me wanting to create something else, I wonder if that’s my reaction to what’s going on. Anyway, EP “Within the Abyss” coming up soon. I’m fine… 😅😂💀

*Please* ask your MP to sign this. I’d love to shut up about politics and start music-posting more (and I will soon I’ve been busy!) but I kind of need to be able to use the normal loo like a normal person, so if you can stop Labour’s ghoulish bathroom ban, that’d be grand, thanks. 💜 #trans
