“I have horrible thoughts.”

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

"He's gonna fix it. Believe in him ... all the abortion, it's evil ... I want to see 2 people -- Trump & Jesus...we do not want Muslims taking over...I have horrible thoughts. I don't think they should be here. This isn't their country...they need to pack up & go back where they came from."

Not with most people over-60 either.

Marco Rubio is currently delivering a very boring speech railing against "communism." These guys really think they're cooking by trying to revive the Red Scare. Ain't gonna work with people under 60 years old.

Even if Fox News (or anyone else) were to take this epically stupid idea seriously (they shouldn't), its telling that the only repurcussions these talking heads focus on are how they think they'll own the libs.

Faulkner: "Sanctuary cities include Boston, Chicago, Denver, LA, NY, Philadelphia, SF. All of those airports handle 1,100 int'l flights per day. They're not just gonna not fly. They're gonna go to red states and cities. A boon for red states. People will just really hate living in blue states."

"Billionaires pay 45% of the taxes in this country" only sounds impressive until you remember they're still billionaires.

Duffy: "If you're liberal, they want you to take public transportation ... the problem is that it's dirty. You have criminals. It's homeless shelters. It's insane asylums. It's a work ground for the criminal element of the city to prey upon the good people."

Lutnick: "It's time to train people not to do the jobs of the past, but to do the great jobs of the future. This is the new model where you work in these kinds of plants for the rest of your life and your kids work here and your grandkids work here. We let the auto plants go overseas."

If you start by sanctioning lawyers simply because they represent clients with whom you disagree Then progress to defying Supreme Court orders-while absurdly claiming those decisions SUPPORT your position It's only a matter of time before you begin arresting judges This is fascism-pure and simple

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

New in PN: Arresting judges is a 5-alarm escalation "It’s not just that Dugan was arrested, but how she was arrested. The whole point was to cause a scene. There’s no allegation she was attempting to evade arrest, but the FBI still forced a sitting judge to do a perp walk at her place of work."

Bondi declares war on the courts: "What has happened to our judiciary is beyond me ... they are deranged ... we are sending a very strong message today ... we will come after you and we will prosecute you. We will find you."

Pretty sure this was settled as heresy by Emperor Constantine during the First Council of Nicaea, in Anno Domino’s 325.

With so many folks excited for Andor Season 2 kicking off in just a couple of days, this is your periodic reminder that writer-director Tony Gilroy's underrated Michael Clayton (2007; George Clooney, Tom Wilkinson, Tilda Swinton) is a fucking masterpiece, and you should all watch it.

I know it’s not a competition, but he really is the worst Marco.

A big (and possibly unsolvable) problem in for audio dramas getting more popular is that the better your show is - the more carefully-honed the script, the more intricate the design - the harder it is for listeners to sporadically zone out, which I suspect is one of the attractions of chat podcasts.

lol okay boomer

Trump: "One thing I learned about the coal miners -- that's what they want to do. You could give them a penthouse on 5th Avenue and a different kind of a job and they'd be unhappy. They want to mine coal. She was gonna put them in a high tech industry where you make little cell phones and things."

Why do you think he removes their skins, Agent Starling? Enthrall me with your acumen.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

"The tariffs, and the quick slide into economic calamity, have sparked real resistance. They’ve also demonstrated just how craven the GOP is, and the extent to which most Rs would do anything rather than point out the emperor is wearing a grotesque meat suit made of the skin of his constituents."

Even among the darkest recesses of the human condition, there is no more paralyzing, bladder-loosening fear than conservative men’s fear of subways.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Sean Duffy: "The truth is, transit across America is dangerous. And these liberals -- liberal mayors -- they want everybody out of cars and into trains but they made the trains unsafe so nobody really wants to ride them ... even big men don't want to ride the subway at those times of night."

He had traffic violations so we denied him due process and sent him to die in a gulag in El Salvador is maybe not a winning political message but Republicans are welcome to try it, let’s see how it goes.

JD Vance claims the Maryland father the Trump administration mistakenly deported to a slave prison in El Salvador wasn't "father of the year" bc he had "traffic violations," and says "we do not ask permission from far left Democrats before we deport illegal immigrants." (He's talking about judges)

Incidentally, since almost all the physical books from major publishers in the US are printed in China, that probably just increased the price by 50%, which massively lowers sales and means publishers will do much smaller print runs.
