As a teacher, I hate doing grades just as much s the kids hate getting them. 😅 I understand that objective data is important, but it is so much extra work on the weekends and eats up my free time. I have decided to test out giving no homework this quarter to see if my kidsʻ scores get worse.

One of my goals for 2025 is to avoid buying anymore books. I plan to get through my TBR list and use the library services a lot more. (the exception is The Stars and Green Magics series by @novaecaelum.bsky.social because they are still publishing more and there is no other way to get those)

I've been trying to understand why I feel the particular flavor of distressed that I do right now. I think it's because we can no longer discuss the lessons we should be learning from any kind of disaster without the worst chucklefucks coming out of the woodwork to wreck everything.

Some of my LA friends have told me that the problem is climate change, and it is. It’s January for fucks sake. But that doesn’t mean we have to solve climate change to better control fire.
