MTG Simplified

Why magic needs mana screw I put a lot of love into this video essay Thanks to @maro254.bsky.social for sharing his design insights over the years. This video wouldn't be possible without the drive to work podcast @fireshoes.bsky.social #mtg #magicthegathering youtu.be/03nGopU0Dgo?...

Honoured to be the video editor for this! Here's to more in the future.

What do you mean you hate Pauper?

Heading to Ghent for my first a RC! Hoping to highroll like crazy.

A few months ago I got to design the staff t-shirt for The Hobbit x MTG! I relished painting some of the pivotal characters and elements of the story. The stylization is inspired by Tolkien's own paintings, and I wanted it to look as though Bilbo had drawn these things in his book.

Seems like a mostly win-win announcement. Will be funny seeing how this is dealt with at big tournaments though.

The people have spoken

Me and @dafore.bsky.social built skeletons for every archetype in Reality Fracture and discussed what we think will work best on day 1. Check it out to get a head start on your drafts and Prereleases! @fireshoes.bsky.social youtu.be/i1DmhMY7nI4?...

Very grateful for the positive reception on this video. It's always a bit spooky putting yourself this out there.

After almost 10 years since my one time on the Pro Tour I came back to competitive MTG... and got hooked all over again. @fireshoes.bsky.social youtu.be/r8TKaDXvuME

Tuesday: a group session on card evaluation, using Fractured Reality commons. Limited card evaluation is a skill you can practise. This is practice with the reasoning shown — my process, out loud, card by card. 10 spots available! 1/2

This card seems crazy to me. Even if it doesn't make waves is constructed I LOVE the design.

Made this 4 years ago and was not very forgiving of Alchemy at the time. Happy to see it go tbh. youtu.be/41bekSLnAy4?...

Made a Jace token :)

They're cowards for not calling it Amass Jace. Gonna be curious to see how this set plays out for sure.

🥳

Scuffle's Shenanigans Episode 1 is now on YouTube! We start simple by making @thoralfseverin.bsky.social, @headology.bsky.social, and @chordocalls.bsky.social play Magic Jeapordy. If you like this kind of content let me know, I have so many games to make people play youtu.be/6r__CpwPaig

I asked Veveil the long standing limited writer for @draftsim.bsky.social to help coach me how to play HOB Sealed better. There is lots of good info here for anyone looking to win more boxes this weekend! youtu.be/lEDsN5ObRBQ @fireshoes.bsky.social

A truly shit 24 hour hours for celebrity deaths.

@pastrytime.bsky.social This is insane ball (orb) knowledge

Exercising my free will and uploading a 23 hour video of all 30 of my arena direct runs without commentary to youtube just to see what happens.

Won a box! Deck was amazing and this direct is not for the faint of heart.

Arena Direct going mixed so far

🏆#4 My rares did some lifting and Mountain-King's Return was amazing. Still need to draft and win with UW.

🏆#3 with all the elves and a busted bear enchantment.

Great insight as always. Itching to play more but mundane work first!

Early data for the format is out and it's better than I predicted. Yes, Simic is trailing, but the difference between Rakdos and the rest is not big. Community came prepared and drafted RB high enough that the lane was not outrageously open. Other pairs did well too. 1/11

Second 🏆 Prowlers, Quarrels and deathtouchers are the truth.

One of the first 5 Hobbit Trophy winners on Arena. Speed-running my way with RB Goblins. Many turn 4-5 wins. @fireshoes.bsky.social

After a 270 posting hiatus I'm back with @dafore.bsky.social to discuss all the draft archetypes in The Hobbit. This will help if you're prereleasing or if you want to get ahead when drafting starts. @fireshoes.bsky.social youtu.be/sj808zpMWZ0

Just landed in Brussels can't wait for the main event

Excited to be going to Brussels for team limited in a week. Gonna be doing some filming and hopefully also a lot of winning! Last few days of prep before flying out here we come.

This is my accountability post. It's time to make content again.

No... I didn't want it to be real but it is RIP to the greatest

Submissions for this month end in a few hours!

Grateful for the interest after not posting for over 4 months Trying to present niche things in a way that's hopefully interesting is my ✨passion✨

New video all about the 3 Card Blind format and why you should be playing it! I was sweating when @tolariancommunitycollege.com recently did a video mentioning it whilst I was editing this but luckily for me it was only mentioned briefly. @fireshoes.bsky.social youtu.be/5Nlbtbs9QMA?...

I've been really busy with a couple of real life events but I got to interview someone awesome for my next video yesterday. Speaking to fellow passionate nerds is always super energising.

Will totally judge if you have those white corners sorry can't help it.

I am unreasonably upset that they didn't set the flavor text up right - one n short

[West-Ham Football Stadium chorus] Spoida-Bloke, Spoida-Bloke shagged a spoida 'n now 'e's gross 'E can swing, from a web, E's a cunt 'an 'is uncle's dead. Look out! 'Ere comes Spoida-Bloke!

Woah what happened

The macabre is almost as alluring as shiny cardboard

I have a 100% day 2 conversation rate at the Pro Tour. Please ignore the fact I've played in one PT.

They call me 007 0 gems 0 boxes 7 bullets
