Putin is another one of those guys the Nobel Peace Prize committee keeps overlooking because they're biased against mass murderers.
Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff to Vladimir Putin today: “You talk so much about Trump being a humanitarian, you are a humanitarian also, sir. And I salute that. I commend you.”
The best part of this is how careful El-Sayed was to quiet the crowd when some of them, missing the point, started to turn on Tommy--a great moment of leadership, so often lacking in our political candidates.
This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.

the people responding to this defensively are nuts. i’m talking about a critical mass of democrats to make it clear that they’ll put themselves on the line to protect congresswoman omar. im glad there have been some strongly worded statements but there needs to be action.

Often lost is the irony that when the left used the word "woke" they really did mean something political. Not radical, usually, but political. But when the right dismisses "woke," it's entirely radical. They quite literally mean to dismiss any and all obligations to basic human decency.
I have a lot of thoughts on this NYT piece on bike lanes. It adopts the framing that they are part of the culture wars, instead of simply a tool in the multi-tool transportation planning toolbox. 🧵 www.nytimes.com/2026/08/31/u...

“A single-payer universal health care system could cover every American, save more than 100,000 lives a year, and still cost $1 trillion less than the system it would replace, according to a new preprint study led by researchers at the Yale School of Public Health.” ysph.yale.edu/news-article...

Just the laziest reporting ever. No attempt made to distinguish DSA ideas from communism, or challenge absurd GOP claims. Also the reporter somehow couldn't find a single Democratic Socialist for comment. thehill.com/homenews/hou...

Lying under oath about what happened 30 seconds prior.
OSSOFF: Who won the 2020 election? CLAYTON: Uhm, you know, I'm not going to do this with you O: This is a job interview. You have an obligation to be honest with the committee. Who won the 2020 election? C: I'm not gonna get into that with you O: You're not being honest or forthright C: ...
Did you know no one has beliefs besides Catholics?
Vance: People hang out those hideous signs in their yard that say, "in this house we believe blah blah blah blah blah. You know, love is love, science is science, whatever. No person is illegal." That sign is such a disgusting butchering of the Nicene Creed
This is the Trump administration so let's start by not trusting anything. But IF his figures are correct: --any fraud is likely by brokers, not the insured --it may not be fraud. It may be that people can't afford to go to the Dr even WITH insurance --GOP solutions will make problems worse
Dr Oz on ACA "fraud" -- "Of the people who signed up, 40% never use the insurance. Let me ask you, John, you have health insurance -- do you use it once a year? In Obamacare right now 40% of the people ostensibly signed up never use the insurance ... we have a lot of fake people on the policies"
The Federal Reserve is different because it could mess up the economy whereas some other agencies could just start world war III or usher in a climate apocalypse so no big deal.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court, 6-3, overrules Humphrey's Executor, giving the president broad firing powers over the leadership of federal agencies and limiting Congress's power to limit presidential firings. In a 5-4 decision, however, the court said the Federal Reserve is likely different.

Administration giving the finger to every single government role.
President Trump is naming Bill Pulte, a home-bulding heir who runs the Federal Housing Finance Agency, to be the acting Director of National Intelligence. Pulte has no known relevant experience for a national security role. www.nytimes.com/live/2026/06...
It’s obvious. He’ll be consuming the blood of the young.
Just 24 hours after his third hospital visit in 13 months, President Trump is gathering his top officials at Camp David. Because Trump notoriously dislikes the secluded retreat, onlookers are guessing the meeting is far more serious than a standard briefing.
“For example, Trump predicted that i and my oligarch buddies would totally suck up to him to curry favors from his administration. And, waddayaknow, we did!”
Bezos on Trump: "I think he's a more mature, more disciplined of himself than he was in his first term. Trump has lots of good ideas. He's been right about a lot of things. You have to give him credit where credit is due."
Who is more delusional: The Trump official who claims he was teleported to a Waffle House? Or the Trump official who believes Donald Trump actually wrote a book?
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin: "President Trump literally wrote the book on the art of the deal. He's the strongest leader of your and I's time. Period."
